Is Melatonin Legal To Buy In Thailand

Featured Replies

Had no problem ordering from China a few years ago when I tried it.  Did not seem to have any effect on my normal schedule sleep pattern so did not use many (a Tylenol worked much better).  It seems to be useful for those arriving after international travel or working rotating type shifts - for body clock reset.  Not that useful as a general sleep aid.

I got some from iHerb, 'Natrol', 3mg tabs...can't remember what it cost but it was cheap...much much cheaper than OTC melatonin in Thailand which is ridiculously expensive as it's imported...

I also order usually from iHerb, but it can take 2-3 weeks until you have it. Lazada  24-48 hours and the price difference is not that much.

I didn't think to check with Lazada, already ordered from iHerb. Never mind, if it works can order from them next.

Take Alpha liopic Acid for liver help this is what they give to people suffering from paramecetmol poisoning you need a big dose but it has saved a few peoples lives at the hospitals who have it and know what to do with it.

So the million dollar question :

Is it hard to find because it's illegal and some pharmacy manage to find / sell it freely just like you can still find Tramadol in small pharmacies ?

Or just because no one is buying it so pharmacies don't bother to sell it ?

I only bought melatolin twice in Bangkok, wasn't really hard to find, only one pharmacy didn't sell it (i think if you go to the big groups like boots or whatever they won't have it).

Neither melatonin nor tramadol are illegal, though tramadol sales have some requirements which many pharmacies find difficult to meet or not worth the bother. In addition Thai teenagers have taken to abusing tramadol (sometimes with very bad results) and rather than trying to sort out legitimate buyers from drug abusing teens some pharmacies think it is simpler to just not carry it. Others carry it but do not disclose this fact except to customers they know.

Supplements like melatonin are not well known or popular among Thais. There is a large repository of Thai traditional medecine remedies which would be used more often though I am not sure any of them help much for sleep.

As mentioned both lazada and i herb carry melatonin so easy to order online.
