When you try to warn someone and they won't listen

When you try to warn someone and they won't listen... Sometimes you just need to let things play themselves out...

Reminds me of the time my buddy's tailpipe was coming loose so he used a coat hanger and tied it to the driveshaft.

I tried to tell both the driver of the pick up truck and the guy riding in the back with the giant piece of plywood. That they should angle the plywood so the wind will force it down.

Sure enough... I followed at a safe distance. Close enough to see the guy in back launch thirty feet into the air with the wood at almost the exact moment he jumped on it to try and stabilize it.

I warned my girlfriend I was coming.
Did she listen?
I let it play itself out...

I've seen a lot, but I think that wins the cake.

step back walk away clean

when I was workin' up in the US northwest woods during my reckless yoof there were lotsa ways to get killed...and I became cavalier when we were dealing with small timber which we called 'pecker poles'...

then a grizzled type logger appeared and said: 'ye better watch yer ass, them little ones will kill ye just as dead as the big ones...'

wise words...
