Has America changed to election of Presidents by popular vote?  Did you go to school in Thailand?

Hillary 218 Electoral votes Trump slam dunk with 278 Electoral votes.

No of course not. I didn't say that. You claimed majority which implies PEOPLE. The electoral college is a scheme with allows a candidate to get more popular votes and still lose. Right now trump leads by under 100,000 votes. It will be of academic interest to see if Hillary overtakes him in the popular vote. Of course that doesn't change the election results as far as who will be president.

The closeness of the popular vote does amplify, yet again, how DIVIDED the American people are ... sometimes even close to 50 50.

UK foreign debt 569% GDP.   USA 114% GDP.  Who you trying to kid?

Eurostat says UK debt in 2015 was 89.2 % Of GDP. Even if it was as high as you say the UK debt couldn't destroy the world economy,America's can

An event of global importance.

Trump is the first elected leader of anti-system, and in the largest democracy.

He was elected with the program we hear everywhere in popular bistros:
"Lower taxes, less aid to the lazy, the  Chicano outside and Muslims refused entry"

Conformist politicians and journalists say "populism" with open contempt.

Well we will see in action.

It seems Podesta is going to speak at Clinton HQ shortly. I'd suggest he wears body armour!

I see the smily but  I'd be careful about such posts if I were sitting in the USA posting  if I were you.  (NSA and all that)    You seem to suggest possible violence which is  akin to shouting "fire" in a crowded cinema.

President-elect Trump welcomes total free arms as per the US Constitution.    All foreign supporters of him  surely must  like his stance on that  I'd imagine.

I  should  include that means   free buying of assault  weapons without restriction along with dum dum shells.    There really should be no limit.

Why not make land mines available to  prevent trespassing.    I once worked with a few gun nuts and one of them  had no limit including a  45 cal. machine gun mounted on top of an SUV.      Good idea.

The USA will manage through the next four years   and live with the results.     Maybe by that time there will be another world leader  that will call the shots.

I put my money on North Korea..

I hope President elect Trump does well in his newly appointed office.

No they aren't shocked. It's the media & some governments that say they are shocked.

Well all the responses are still coming in.  The pattern at the moment seems to be the heads of state are all saying the positives while their underlings are flagging up the shock and in some cases despair.   There has been a call for an emergency meeting of all the EU countries to discuss this extraordinary result.  One person who has come out early and congratulated Trump, France's Le Pen says "shocked but delighted by result".

Lot's and lots to come but I don't think that shocked is too much of an exaggeration.

Under standardly the markets are all falling considerably after the boost when it looked as if Clinton would win.

UK debt 569% of GDP.

You shouldn't discuss thing you have no idea about what you talk.  Who holds US debt?  The largest owner of US debt is US Social Security.

America elects a game show host for President. Laugh?

No one liked your post I guess but I think it's fine.     I laugh today but will hold back tomorrow, Allah willing.

Trump very carefully stressed in his speech that America needs to come together and he made a point of saying nice things about Clinton.  The last thing he wants now is all the nutjobs to start kicking off.  he is reversing his "angry" approach, he doesn't need it anymore now that he has won.

Only 28% of Americans cast ballots in the Primaries and almost half of Americans didn't vote.   So actually most Americans don't give a sh##

Actually the World is sick of governments that do nothing for the majority of their population and are attempting to vote out the establishment.  Brexit in the UK: Donald Trump in America; possibly Marne Le Pen in France.  I would expect Merkel in Germany to be voted out and more right wing governments in Europe to emerge. Globalisation has worked only for the 1% and the rest of the population is paying the price in low wages and lack of opportunity.

Clinton lost because she could not put forth an agenda that appealed to the majority of Americans. While I do not care for a conservative agenda per se- I am willing to give Mr Trump a chance to either excel or otherwise.

It just shows he is not informed.  Trump is a billionaire real estate developer who has a number of TV shows.  The Majority of voting Americans are informed and voted for Trump rather than a professional politician and crook.

Trump won't be in the Whitehouse for a while and this is obviously a period of uncertainty.  The world has to come to terms with a Trump Presidency and that will take time.  Nothing can change where we are now so we should just back off and wait to see what happens when he is in the driving seat.

Con man.

Still demonstrating why the Democratic Hillary supporters were really the divisive ones during this election.  Even in defeat you can't be gracious and try for a better not bitter America.

Nobody living in America wants this Presidency to be a disaster, why would they?  There is no pleasure in saying "I told you so!" when you are subject to the fallout.

America has arrived and is getting ready to kick other countries out of the room who don't play fair like Mexico and China.

Unexpected news, maybe damaging to my little business in Asia.

And where is Publicus when we need him here to explain the party line?

His shills are no doubt otherwise occupied jetting out to banana republic tax havens before the Feds catch up with them.

Like I said you and your ilk are the reason for American divisiveness.  You are one of the problems that caused people to vote for Trump.

If you had been more open and fair minded perhaps people would have treated you better.   Karma you get what you give.  7 times good I think is the expression or something like that.

And I've sometimes thought Thai people and leaders were raving mad when it comes to their politics.

Today, the U.S. showed Thailand that it really has the edge when it comes to political madness and lunacy.

I caused trump? By being anti fascist, pro civil rights, pro universal health care, etc.? Bizarre spin. I don't accept blame for the USA creeping into fascism. That's on the people that voted him into power.

I think this member, after the 6 months of non-stop insults and vitriol directed at other members, can now be added to most people's "ignore" list.

Agreed. It's a national suicide attempt. Now we need leadership to resist by any possible means. I'd like to see a march on D.C. of the sick people trump will be murderering by killing Obamacare. If they have to die at least they can be visibile to the world.
