After thinking about it for awhile and looking around what is available i finally got some off road bumpers.

The look very well build and weigh around 30 kg. each(65lbs)

Powder coated and ready for whatever you want to attach.

I was surprised to see they actually make them from scratch in this shop,i would imagine you can get them customized any way you want.

Took about 1hour to install .

The shop is located near Kanchanaburi.

Went for a little drive to Bahn Pilok and further down to Somsak mining.

An added bonus is that you get a lot more respect from other drivers, they are less prone to try and push you off the road.

Yes,i do believe if you get pushed around the truck would move but no damage to the body work.

I like them!

Might stop the parking sensors working ... not really a problem for my wife though ... she ignors them unfortunately

I passed my UK driving test in 1962. Mrs Jas also has a UK driving license.

However modern driving aids are helpful. Our EV even parallel parks itself and of course the reversing camera ... I wouldn't want to be without.

Mrs J, very unfortunately for me, managed to reverse into some support wires one dark night.

If you only have a 'kin old banger I see little point in surronding it with steel ... in less of course ...

The add ons available are for looks and are useless. I'd be quite interested in a back bumper like the one shown, especially with the tow points but would be a little hesitant to add a substantial front bumper.

...why should Thai custom made be better than "off the shelf"? When I got my equipment installed, I was offered Thai made for half the price compared to "off the shelf" ARB original parts. The difference in quality is immense, which explains the price difference....

Some of the off the shelf stuff may be even better engineered than custom, but most of the ones I have seen are for show only.
