Wifi dropping out

I have just installed a true vision package which includes Wifi. My Acer PC has no problems with it but my son's Acer laptop does. The wifi drops out after a few minutes. It shows, being connected. Any suggestions. Nothing too hitech please. I'm not very computer literate.

Does it work ok with the lappie next to the router?

 

Try updating the network drivers on the laptop.

No. even with the cable from the Wifi unit connected to the laptop.

But why should this happen with True and not with 3BB?
