Source: Thai National News Bureau Public Relations Department - 08 December 2006 Utter Rubbish, it would have very positive effects on the economy, listing Thai beverage would have done wonders for the SET, it's well known that Thai Beverage is one of the most transparant companies in Thailand, listing on the SET would bring in foriegn investment and also raise the standard of the SET. womble
listed in Singapore already ?? Yes, Thailands loss is Singapores gain. Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, all countries benefiting from Thailands increasing uncompetitiveness. Thailand is falling behind and will IMHO fall further behind. jumnien
Could it be that Chamlong is still resentful that Thai Beverage ownership supported the previously elected government instead of the presently selected fellowship?
astral
Maj. Gen. Chamlong submits to PM a letter opposing listing of alcohol businesses in the stock exchange Where should they be listed, if they are public companies?? Maj. Gen. Chamlong Srimuang (จำลอง ศรีเมือง) has submitted a letter to the prime minister, opposing the listing of liquors in the stock market. I think the reporter lost the plot here. Too much sampling of the products? It is the companies that are listed, not the booze ....................
wpcoe
Perhaps in some convoluted way, listing on the SET would be akin to "alcohol advertising"? You know: list on the (stock) market, display in the (super) market? It would make about as much sense as that prominent government official who said open source software was a bad thing.
