Police hunt woman after driver drugged in Lampang

LAMPANG: -- Police are hunting for a woman who drugged a man she hired to travel from Chonburi to Lampang and back.

 

The woman is thought to have spiked the driver's drink then made off with items worth 45,000 baht.

 

Police in Lampang were called to a PTT gas station where they found driver Bunchai, 64, unconscious behind the wheel of his truck, reports Sanook.

 

It took some time for them to wake him up. When he came round he told police that a woman had hired him in Chonburi to drive to Lampang to pick up some things and take her back.

 

She was to pay him 8,000 baht but no money had yet changed hands.

 

When they reached Lampang in the early hours of yesterday morning she bought a chicken essence drink for him.

 

He must have passed out for the next thing he knew the police were trying to wake him up. He had lost a gold watch worth 25,000 baht, a gold necklace, amulet and some cash all worth a total of 45,000 baht.

 

Police are examining CCTV to try to get a lead in the case.

Police probably believed his story, until the theft of the amulet was mentioned. Unless that was a fake
