Annoying Boxes on Google Search.

Featured Replies

Is anyone else now getting all their Google search results in boxes? It means that there are only half as many results to a page.

try deleting your search history and cookies, that helps sometimes

Done that, no change. According to an online search it may be some kind of Google experiment, but I hope it goes away.

It's not uncommon, there's lots of other sufferers. Looks like it's Bing for me. https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/websearch/9EvVmTDYjCo

Try using :  www.google.com/ncr

Use this until Google stops using you in its experiment - https://duckduckgo.com/

Thanks. Good alternative to Bing.

Your link doesn't work for me.

i didn't link it., try it now:    http://www.google.com/ncr

Still the same. What does the ncr signify, because it just reverts to Google.com for me.

ncr = no country redirect. It  takes you to the google USA site instead of the  Google Thai site. I don't know what's going on, I've never seen that problem before.

It looks like they're all ads. Maybe you have some adware that's causing it.

If you open the link I provided in the 3rd post down you will see I'm not the only one having the problem. They aren't ads, they are just boxing the search results. It will do that no matter what you are searching for.

Sounds like they targeted you as a guinea pig. Try using a VPN, or just wait til the test is over.

I'll just use another search engine.

I hope they're not considering going to that format. Looks like Yahoo.  Duck Duck Go's a good alternative.

Bing works OK as well.

Does it also do this in another browser ?

By the way, your gmail.com email address is clearly visible in the screenshot on one of the browser tabs.

Oops! Thanks, I'll ask the mods to remove it.

Hmmm strange, maybe something to do with the web server cache.

only thing is now to wait for Mods to clear them.

Doesn't work for me either ... but check this out:

http://searchengineland.com/google-ncr-no-country-redirection-feature-stop-working-but-google-may-bring-it-back-239381

... already over a year old though, so did they 'bring it back' and take it away again?

That alone is reason enough to permanently switch to duckduck imho - or to any other search-engine for that matter ...
