Can anyone recommend a decent motorbike rental spot on the island?

Something with a few cc's for taking on those inclines.

I would be more interested in finding something with brakes rather than cc's....

 

Any rental place on the Island has been ridden by tourists and amateurs and will have had its brakes trashed. See lots of tourists 2 up on little mopeds on KC and I would not want to put my life in the hands of most Thai rental companies knowing the way they get hammered on that terrain

Agreed so hired a jam jar instead.

We hired an ER6 for the step dad a couple of years back and drove down to KC from Pattaya, not a bad ride and though you are still at the mercy of the rental companies the bigger bikes in Pattaya are less likely to have been completely hammered than a click on KC. Still much better to take your own though as KC is good fun for riding but good servicing, brakes and tyres are a must...
