Best way? Road to Ubon Ratchathani from 9 North Ringroad?

Featured Replies

Hi All/.

looking for some best advice? Road conditions to Ubon Ratchathani?

Normally i go by  9 ringroad. No.2 road and take the 24 all the way, last time i travel this road last year?

BUT THE No. 24 road was a disaster with so many Road works, construction - took for ever to get there?

What are current roads like now? has anyone travelled this way lately? or better to go through Buri Ram

any ideas please?

thank you

There seems to be only one alternative to rd #24 and that is #226 from Korat (Nakhon Ratchasima).

I have no local knowledge so can't tell you whether is a advisable to use this.

One post with non working map (embedding?) removed.

(I have seen this too on my own attempts)

Buri Rams O.K.

Do you want to say that driving on #226 via Buriram/Surin/Sisakhet is OK?

I did Ubon 3weeks ago from Phitsanulok through B Ram, didnt find a prob. Not much good on road number, just use Sat Nav voice Lady.

We drove up from Pakkret area on 10th January. Don't remember any problems.  Just 'inputted ' coordinates for De Prow Hotel on www.maps.google.com and did what it said. R2  and R24

FYI we also stayed at Klong Chiam Orchid Riverside ... very nice by the Mekong

and Sunnee Grand ... again ok and back in the town.

It was a pleasant trip in the EV
