The secret fast elevator that hardly anyone knows exists

Ever come to Suvarnabhum with lots of baggage, and figure you'll take the elevator, only to find yourself in a crowd, waiting for ten minutes to be packed in a slow-moving sardine can? Well, then, you are not one of the few who know about the secret fast elevator that's well hidden.  Let's say you come from the airport link train, now turn left and pass the crowds at the elevator and continue all the way to the end of the corridor. You won't see the elevator until youre at the end...and there it is, usually with one or two airport staffers waiting. Those in the know get onto the virtually empty elevator and smile at each other.  Most of the time, it doesnt even stop until the 4th floor, which you reach in about 15 seconds.  You end up near the THAI check in counters - which is often just where you want to be.  Try it next time.

Well, that used to be  one of the best kept secrets in Swampy.......Luckily, as i am now retired here i will not be using it nearly as much......

Your at the Meeting Point Bar.:partytime2:  Cheapest beer bar at the airport Singha, Chang, Leo, Tiger 70baht a small bottle. I always treat myself as i'm going on my holidays and splash out on a Heineken or San Miguel at 80baht.

Don't remember much after a few hours :burp: there before check-in.

.........now walk crab style and pass the crowds at the elevator and continue all the way, until you bang your head at the end of the corridor. :cheesy:

Why everyone making 'Mockery' of this OP.........??????????????

Nobody giving credit to a guy who obviously had good intent to try to share something he thought might be helpful to others. Sad that there are a few TV members sitting around 'Bored' and have to attack somebody to add fun to their daily routine...............

I've watched this thread for a couple hours and 'mockery' slurrs just keep coming..........

To all of you that posted above me, I ask you to go back and re-read the OP and pay special attention to the fact that he got a few likes........ Almost as many as that 'Moderator' who probably got likes from 'friends' ....................

P.S.   I've never known this OP poster so this is nothing personal........

Larry  (OP)

I for one appreciate your good intent of sharing with us your helpful knowledge of that lift.........

Other than the few replies and post just above mine, I saw that some other TV posters/readers 'LIKED' your post.......... Hang in there and don't be discouraged by a few.......... Just remember those who 'Mock' you, you will see more of them on TV forum plus a few others doing the same to others posters............

ThaiVisa has a wealth of information but similar to a rose which has a lovely smell, but it also has thorns....... ThaiVisa has a few thorns as well............. I spend more time reading than posting just because of the thorns.............

And, Yes....... I will check out that lift and thanks for the tip........ I doubt the TV'ers will create any jamb at the lift....

Thank you, Sawadeeken

I'm not offended by the "mocking" replies.  Just hope I can make travel a bit easier, especially for older people and those with kids, for whom juggling a load of bags on a potentially dangerous escalator, squeezing into an elevator, and wending their way through the crowds on the fourth floor are less than pleasurable experiences.

In the same vein as the OP, how many departing passengers realize there is an escalator leading down to the gates level directly behind that big Thai statue after you exit Immigrations?  Yes, you can entirely bypass the meandering walkways through the shopping mall.

I always turned to the  right after the train to take that slow elevator that hardly moves. Now it will be only left , left , left for me . Don't tell anyone .

To Oldcarguy: Actually, yes....From arrivals, you turn right (since you're facing the other way) and keep walking to the end where you can see the elevator. and take it down one floor to the taxis or two floors to the Airport Link.

To Bredbury: I don't know why anyone would want to go downstairs if they're already checked in!  This elevator is landside, not airside.

To WPCOE: Thanks...I wasn't aware of that escalator.  Will try it out next time

In case my description wasn't clear, here's a photo from Google that shows the sign for one of the escalators over the shoulder of this fellow (there are two escalators there, one to the left, and this one to the right):

PS:  I forgot that there are three immigrations areas at departures, the escalators are by the exit from the center immigrations lobby:

You miss some sense of humor.

I added the smiley to make clear that my remark is a friendly joke.

Of course I appreciate the thread starter to share his finding.

If someone liked my post for a different reason, please unlike.
