Lift Failure

Featured Replies

My Mrs just informed me that a Lift (Elevator) has dropped from 7th floor to ground somewhere in the center of Pattaya, just waiting for some updates.

It's a hotel and it happened yesterday, already in the news.

Happened to a group of local government on conference from the north

lift fell just as one guy managed to step out, scraping the shirt off his back, while the rest of the people in the lift fell to the ground floor

Pattaya Centre Hotel, that tower in Soi 12 (Beach rd.).

It's about 20 floors high and seems not only the exterior is a bit worn out.

There is a report in the online edition of Bangkok Post (not allowed to be linked here).

People were injured, sure not a free fall which should never(!) happen.

Two people severely injured.
