Sichuan Chinese Hotpot

Featured Replies

Interestingly enough I've found it rather difficult to find good Sichuan style Chinese hotpot in Bangkok .. compared with the UK where every major city has Chinese restaurants that cater to the international student crowd with a hotpot buffet.. pay one price eat all you want. usually about £20 per person..

The only place i found in Bangkok is "Sichuan Restaurant" At The Street Ratchada. The bill came to roughly 2000baht for 2 people and it was not all you can eat.. i did not feel very full after leaving. I think the place catered to Chinese tourists.. even the waitresses were Chinese.

There must be a better option out there? All you can eat Sichuan buffet hotpot :D

Most Chinese restaurants out of China change their menu to the taste of the country they are located in.

I don't think there is all you can eat Sichuan hotpot place in all of Thailand.

dunno, but having lived in Chengdu for a while, that's a poor looking attempt at huo guo. Thanks for the heads-up.

After a three year-long search, I finally found authentic Sichuan cuisine in BKK just last week.

Check out "Peking Restaurants" on Sukhumvit Soi 26.

It's a rather unassuming place on the ground floor of the Richmond office building, directly across from the Tom Tom coffee shop.

Quality is comparable to some of the better Sichuan restaurants I have visited in Taiwan. Prices are very reasonable. On our first visit, the wife and I ordered hot pots,  three different orders of dim sum, and sea bass. Damages: 1200 THB.

I definitely plan on becoming a regular visitor.
