Hot and Sticky? Build an air conditioner!

Featured Replies

I've built these types of air conditioners before. It's hardly rocket science and is a cheap way to keep cool. What about you? What D.I.Y inventions have you seen or built that can help cool you down in this roaring heat?

Arent these diy coolers not good in humid climates ?

Or alternatively buy a mobile "air-con" unit for @2,000 baht. But actually these are merely air- coolers; they don't remove moisture from the air which is a major factor when trying to keep cool.

They work great for family who don't like air-con or don't want it, made a good few but with the polystyrene boxes & off cuts of 75mm plastic pipe & small s/h fans, yours is a deluxe version.

2,000 baht. I'd like to see where you can buy that so cheap. A normal floor fan is about 1,500 baht. A mobile aircon unit 2,000 baht, 5555, and pigs can fly.

That's the dirtiest carpet I've ever seen. There must be things living in it.
