PM: university privatization depends on voluntary base

Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont stated that university privatization depends on one's own university will.

The premier chaired a discussion “the Future of University under the Government’s Supervision” at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL). The purpose of this discussion is to create understanding among relevant agencies in preparation for the development in the future.

The premier said that the development always occurs; therefore, it is necessary for people and officials to adjust themselves following the improvement. He confirmed that he has allowed all agencies to take part in the privatization of universities.

As for some universities that are not ready for the privatization, he said that they can submit their letters to him.
