More punishments added to Anti-money Laundering Act

Minister of Justice Charnchai Likhitjitha (ชาญชัย ลิขิตจิตถะ) today announced that the Cabinet had approved an addition of 8 more types of punishments to the Anti-money Laundering Act. However, the Cabinet had asked the ministry to revise the Act to check if there were any loopholes left.

The ministry will submit the revised Act to the Cabinet meeting after the New Year holidays.

At the same time, the Justice Ministry has arranged an event at the Chulaporn Research Institute to commemorate the 60th anniversary of His Majesty the King’s accession to the throne. The Privy Councilor and Statesman Gen.Prem Tinsulanonda (เปรม ติณสูลานนท์) presided over the opening ceremony.

Taoism: shit happens

Buddhism: if shit happens, it isn't really shit

Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah

Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it

Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us?

Atheism: I don't believe this shit

I wonder if the translation is correct? Are they adding "types of punishment" or "types of offenses" ... i.e. broadening the scope of the investigations?

The Cabinet asked the minsitry to check if there were any loopholes left. I could understand loopholes in defining offenses, but loopholes in punishment? :o
