Appeal Launched for British Teacher Gravely Injured in Thailand Crash
Thats good news... But I would also hazard a guess that there are many posters on here who do not have cover that stretches to 10 mil Baht - there are many policies that have a cap. Equally so, are you so confident that you were fully insured when going on holiday when you were in your twenties ??? - I look back and its not really something I considered - thus, I can actually understand it that others get caught out, more through naivety than anything else. As mentioned earlier - compulsory insurance cover would eradicate this issue and stop the authorities complaining about the burden of unpaid medical costs on Thailands health care system.... But, the practicalities are tricky to work out of course. -

23 Nobel Prize-winning economists call Harris’ economic plan vastly superior’ to Trump’s
Hey, these 23 guys are really smart, maybe they can explain some things to all the dummies that voted for Trump, because: They are not smart to understand how millions of illegals being dumped in their communities, that drive down wages, drive up housing costs, and put significant, disproportionate pressure on schools, hospitals and public servicers is actually good a thing. And not only are they stupid, but they are bigots. As it turns out, they do not like men strutting around in their daughters' showers. They do not understand that it is truly fair for men to compete in women's sports, and for male rapists that claim they are women to be locked in the same cell with a biological woman, or why they should pay taxes to provide a violent criminal to have a sex-change operation. You try to explain to them how much worse protestors rioting for a few hours in the Capitol, is much, much worse than months or rioting, burning and looting. They just don’t get it. Neither do they understand how a 78-year-old man, that was a popular celebrity playboy for thirty years, that is a world famous successful real estate developer, and that was the star of a long running, popular (albeit lame) TV show, and was a successful President, is all the sudden on the FBI's most wanted list for crimes no can explain, and no one else has ever been charged with, much less convicted of. Things like this confuse them. Again, these people are stupid. Only high IQ leftists, with years of university education and multiple advanced degrees like these 23 guys are smart enough to understand these things, and if they would just explain it to these dummies, maybe they will vote for a Democrat next time. -

Called at the Chonburi Taxation office
I'm waiting, with baited breath to hear how many others are rushing to TRD offices around the country. This taxation business came up, for the very first time on a local forum up here in NE Issan last week. Nobody knew anything about it! So I'm guessing there won't be a stampede around here. -

Suphan Buri monk defrocked after 400k baht fraud scandal
A Buddhist monk in Suphan Buri province has been defrocked following allegations of involvement in a fraudulent scheme with a spirit medium, deceiving a family out of 400,000 baht. Dr Phra Maha Praipai Nontkaew, the head monk of Suphan Buri province, explained on social media that the case emerged when Gun Jompalang, a well-known influencer, assisted the affected family in seeking justice. The family reported being conned by a monk and a spirit medium, which led to significant financial loss. This incident occurred at Phukhao Din Temple, Sarakaw subdistrict, Mueang district, Suphan Buri province. The legal proceedings against the monk started in June last year when the police decided to prosecute. The case has now been handed over to the prosecutor for further action. The monk is charged with fraud in collaboration with another suspect, identified as a fortune teller. The monk, known for tattooing sacred symbols, allegedly allowed the fortune teller to perform various rituals in his quarters regularly. The fortune teller reportedly conducted these activities elsewhere, charging the victims substantial fees for these rituals. The fortune teller is also facing charges of sexual assault. Although the monk is not directly linked to these allegations, his involvement in inappropriate activities has led to criminal charges. Consequently, the decision was made to defrock him. The defrocking ceremony occurred at 3pm yesterday, November 19, at the temple, officiated by the district head monk and the abbot. The monk, Chase, has since left the temple. The head monk of Suphan Buri, Dr Phra Maha Praipai Nontkaew, expressed his commitment to addressing such issues and maintaining the sanctity of the monastic community. He acknowledged the gravity of the accusations and reiterated the necessity for accountability and transparency within the temple administration, reported KhaoSod. “The temple is a place of worship and spiritual refuge. Such actions are unacceptable and undermine the trust placed in religious figures.” The police continue to investigate the matter to ensure justice is served.
