Sounds like you’re dealing with rather low amounts to arrive at a 5-10% commission.

This was Krungthai, for amounts larger than $10,000 baht, I generally get pretty close to the market rate.

What currency is deposited? Their commissions seem to vary widely between currencies (0.8% for USD, 2.5% GBP & AUD commission).

Aussie banks sting you with lousy exchange rate and transaction fees, on top of the local fees regardless of the amount. I think the worst in the world for this.
