Just another day on the Thai roads as "Transformer" truck gets stuck under road sign

CHONBURI: -- Travelers on route 344 in Chonburi could have been forgiven for thinking that a character from the movie "Transformers" was stuck.

But it was just a ten wheel truck whose dump had engaged causing it to get stuck under a road sign.

The front wheels were lifted some two meters off the ground, reported Thai Rath.

Driver Bai Phansanthia, 65, said he was transporting pork products along the Ban Bung to Klaeng Road when he decided to adjust his seatbelt that was took tight.

He released it as he was going along but it got entangled with the dump mechanism lever and activated the dump.

He realized it had activated and decided to pull over - but got stuck.

Another passing truck driver helped him down from his cab but a crane was needed later to get the truck back on its wheels.

Bai issued his warning to other drivers to watch out for this possibility.

Forgive my ignorance, but any tipper i ever drove you had to pull the clip up, then pull the tipping lever.

So i think he is telling porkies.:cheesy:

It's a pity that, at 65, he didn't have a bit more common sense!.................and where are the pointers???

I commend the Highways Dept., for erecting such a solid and well constructed sign, capable of lifting the cab of a truck 2 metres in the air.

Well done.,

He was wearing a seatbelt while the pigs he was transporting were flying around in the back of his truck.

" said he was transporting pork products " in a tipper truck !

Amazing thread, amazing comments :cheesy:

Most funny of all though is in the OP: "he decided to adjust his seatbelt that was took tight." :clap2::clap2:

All your guesses are wrong guys - he knew it would not fit under the sign, just the brakes failed (aka brain failure) so he could not avoid the accident. :cheesy:

Why not ?

A long time ago, I was transporting butter from Brittany in France to Belgium in a tipper trailer truck ;

but it was in winter and the butter was congelate blocks of 25 kg each . :smile:

You should be very surprised to know what is sometimes in a frigorific trailor ..

Remember truckers from huge STG company coming back from Spain with slates ;

STG is the biggest company in Europe for frigorific trucks .

Would not be surprised to know the interlocking clip was broken or had been disabled.

As I've said before, in road collisions, NO ONE TELLS THE TRUTH!

Warning?  Would that be the "Stupid ****in moron" warning!

Obviously another slippery road incident

Only someone who has never seen the transformer movies would think that.

Thank God the guy did not stop to adjust his seat belt, as that would have avoided this accident.   Another

good quality Thai truck driver.  Keep it up, guys! great  work.

Geezer

Maybe a ghost pig is playing a prank?

P-p-p-p-p-porky phi?

He went to engage 5th gear but managed to put it in retard by mistake.
