Is There Any Risk Of Bombs On Walking Street Tonight?

Featured Replies

I just heard about the Bangkok Bombs...is there any risk tonight in Pattaya?

Walking Street will be one of the most crowded areas in Thailand over the next 3 hours...has anyone heard anything?

Go enjoy yourself!!! No one bothers with Patters. Watch the drunk drivers though!!!

Haven't heard a word.

But we don't know who is behind the bombings.

My guess, if it is internal Thai politics, very remote that Pattaya would be a target.

If it is radical Islamists, a better chance, based on the Bali bombings.

could happen wherever you are in the world in this day and age, no sense worrying about it too much after all you could get run over tommorow, probably more chance of that in Thailand.

Good analysis.

Plenty of explosions going on in and around Pattaya tonight... none of the lethal kind yet.

Of course there is always the troll coming in for a bite.

Did you read my comment?

...ONE of the most crowded areas in Thailand....

Happy New Year!

As nothing has yet shown the bombers to be interested in disrupting the tourist trade--I did not hear anything about tourists, foreigners or their areas mentioned on the news, I would not expect Pattaya to be on the top of the list.

ANd, if you are going to go out, miss the hot spots.

I am staying in to avoid the drunks driving and their fireworks.

Just as a warning to anyone contemplating driving tonight... beware... the police are out in force on all major entries and exits to Pattaya... and some of the minor ones as well.

Stay safe... if you're going to drink... don't drive.

Wish I could be there. Who cares about bombs?

Quite possibly those who've either lost loved ones or seen people they know suffer? Just a thought

Happy New Year all of you lucky lucky so and so's in Pattaya!

had a scary moment when we wanted to go back to the car at about 1:40 in the morning. The Big C at North Pattaya was sealed off and a bomb defusing team was checking a motorcycle parked next to a cooking gas cylinder. Ambulance on standby.

Luckily a false alert and thanks to whoever found it suspicious and alerted the police.
