I've just blown the tread on my last pair of joggers.
I've tried glues before to fix shoes, but obviously not the right glue as the sole never sticks.
Can someone recommend a glue that works to fix this please?

I've got some 2 part epoxy glue for bonding rebar into concrete, do you think that will work?

Any self-respecting shoe repairer will do that for you. I suggest you also ask him to sew it on as well.

DIY? UHU contact cement. Wait for it to dry before joining. Put something heavy on the shoe to keep the bond while curing.

@VocalNeal. I haven't been able to find a show repair person where I am. Must be one somewhere near the market, will look again.

I have some steel toed work boots from the States I've been trying to keep in service to the finish of our house construction. Well it appears there is no completion in sight, but that's another story LOL.

I've used all kinds of shoe repair glues, contact cements, even the high temp silicon automotive stuff. Nothing holds more than a week or so. Be advised, contact cements & epoxies don't flex much, pain involved during break-in. By the time they're broke in the bond breaks. Maybe I'll post a pic of the boots for viewing pleasure, criticism & ridicule:smile:

Barge Cement, though I have no earthly idea where you would get it in Thailand.

In addition, I'm sure some of the more recent footware is composed of polymers that resist any type of solvent glue. Leather, rubber and vinyl are OK, not some other substrates.

Epoxy will not work. I've repaired several pairs of flip flops and a couple of pairs of steel toe caped shoes with a white PVC sealant it comes in the standard tube for putting in a sealant gun and is quite expensive at about 260 Baht. It is extremely flexible and sticks to almost anything.

Could it do anything for these?

My feet have been beat up over the years & finding a comfortable set of work boots is difficult in the States, impossible here. Otherwise these would have been retired long ago. Do Home has a decent selection of caulks, would one simply ask for a pvc sealant?

Nice boots. When you have those steel caps and wear the boots in, there is no way you want to part with them.
Now they have some decent shoe repairs in Pattaya and I'd say Bangkok, but it's like Civil Engineers, there ain't non around here. Even at the local market.
Good luck with your boots.
Hope you're a bit eccentric and frame them when it's time. [emoji3]

Just a note: SWMBO says the market shoe repairs here glue them and stitch them, so you could possibly get another few hundred miles outa them.

Give it a few days till I get to Thailand and I'll get you the details, and no regular caulks probably won't work

Couldn't find the yellow with a big X, but found this...it is yellow. Seems very good. I applied to both sides and waited 10 min, then put the sole on the shoe, sort of temporarily to move it about, but it really stuck already. (Note for next pair.) Moved it into propped position and will check tomorrow.

Just noticed in the picture, it's even got a shoe on the can [emoji38]must work.

If that doesn't work you can try the @Crossy fix for everything *

Thanks[mention=146535]RichCor[/mention].

I could find a use for the first and last one on SWMBO at the moment.

Why can't life be simple like the free range Chooks?

I can see why the girls complain when he jumps on their back, grabs their neck in his beak and kicks his spurs in.

That's also the movable work bench in the pic. that@Crossy sent me the plans of. [emoji1]

Have you done a trial run with that fix yet?

I've been on crews where guys would use duct tape. It would get you through 2 or 3 days till you could get to the Red Wing shop. That was back when Red Wings were affordable.

A flexible Urethane Adhesive like sikaflex will work.

yes, I was going to suggest sikaflex, used it a lot in Europe, good stuff,  have seen it in Thailand - at an exhibition,

but don't know where to buy it

Crocodile make some great products. Just using the red crocodile tile cement, slow drying beautiful stuff.
I still wonder at the ability of these glues and cements to stick so good.

I went to Pattaya and visited a street shoe repairer that we have used before and he stiched and glued. One broken pair he stitched twice. All good now.
