Thus proving that some posters will still chew their own toenails even if you put a steak dinner in front of them.

Hilarious.

Hi kuma and yes there was an additional cost of the installation of an all ceramic crown on the tooth that I had the root canal performed at St. Louis hospital for 7,820 baht . It first required a post installed in the tooth which was a charge of 2,100 baht. Then I had the all ceramic crown added which was an additional 14,000 baht. So the root canal, post and all ceramic crown all total was 23,920 baht for everything complete. I will say I am very satisfied with all the work done by the endodontist and also my dentist who is also my implant specialist Dr. Pokpong Amornvit, DDS, MS at The S Sathorn Clinic Soi Saunplu 8, Sathorn Thai Road Phone 02287-4922. Dr. Pokpong has also done implants for me, which have cost 45,000 baht each total for everything including the titanium implant and zirconia crowns. The process took 90 days total from implant to crown.

Thanks Bob for the additional info, very good selection form the sound of it. The girl needs two implants so perhaps we will drop in to St Louis and see what they say on that.

Cheers

I think that you are wrong. Most people know nothing and don't want to know anything. I will also not trust greedy dentists that all have a car almost as expensive as mines !

Is there no limit to the ignorance here.  Most patients prefer to have some idea what is going on.  They are just afraid to ask for fear of looking foolish.  Any halfway decent dentist will tell you he prefers to have his/her patents well informed.  Knowledgeable patients are better able to make the best choices for their dental health.  Educating patients also helps to reduce the fear of going to the dentist.  Who wouldn't want that?!

Bberry - are you jealous and mistrusting of everyone who is more successful in life than you or just dentists?

Here is my story about Dental hospital which is advised  by admin Sheryl almost in every dental topic..

First of all-that is one of the most expensive places if not the most expensive place in Bkk.Second-they are ready to destroy your healthy teeth only to make profit of you!!!

I had a problem with a tooth next to wisdom tooth and was told that it necessary to remove wisdom tooth fist to get access to the tooth which need to be fixed(6000 baht)+root canal treatment(15000 baht)+ crown(25000 baht).I was told that removing a wisdom tooth is absolutly necessary and it is the only way to do.

I didnt expect to pay 45000 for that,so i searched a bit more and decided to try Chula hospital. After checking me there i was told that wisdom tooth doenst need to be removed and i needed only filling as nerve wasnt damaged ! Everything was made in the  same day for 1480 baht!

45k baht  and multiple visits for destroying healthy teeth vs 1.5k and job is  done in 40 minutes. How sick is that?

At Chula hospital u will have long registration process and will have to spend some time there ,i came there at 2pm and was everything was made at around 6.30 but its absolutely worth it.The doctor was a teacher at the dental faculty at daytime there and in the evening was taking patients,he spoke good english ,was very gentle and overall seemed like  a professional. One of the best dental experiences i ever had,not a single moment of any pain.

.

Lesson learned-i will try to avoid all private hospitals at all cost now. They will not help you, they will rip you off at any given possibility.

Sadly your experience with DH is something I have heard from others, including former dentists who worked there.

As I have stated before, never, NEVER, assume that a teacher at a dental school has any greater skill or expertise than the average practitioner.  Far too many educators are merely old burnouts who couldn't sustain a business on their own, are on their last legs, and/or have the position teaching as a favor from someone in administration.  Now, I did nit say all, I say most!  I speak as a former student and former disgusted educator.

Your blanket condemnation of all private hospitals is truly ignorant!

I went to the Bangkok Dental Hospital in November for four crowns recommended by an Aussie Dentist

Sat in the chair he cleaned my teeth and said save your money your teeth are fine!

another poster wrote that Dental Hospital doesn't have operating microscopes for RCT.

Anybody can confirm this?

I need RCT for a tooth that has a crown already. In Bangkok Hospital,  can they do this without removing the crown?
