Jet crash in Rayong leaves 2 injured

RAYONG, 14th August 2017 (NNT) - A jet plane has crashed during a test flight in Rayong, leaving two people injured.

The two-seater aircraft, which had recently undergone maintenance, collided with a tree in a rubber plantation near the airport as its pilot was preparing to land.

A flight instructor and a mechanic were seriously injured. Both have been hospitalized. Officials are carrying out a probe into the cause of the accident.

Wishing the injured crew a full recovery and hope that the cause is found.

It's the new model Piper Cub!!

The aircraft is not a jet, it is a kit built ultralight, powered by a two-stroke engine, and recently imported from the UK.

As with all things aviation in Thailand, least said soonest mended.

Good thing the mechanic was onboard, that will teach him to do a proper job next time......that's not a jet
