Hi

I leave at that's 10th September Thailand. That's a Sunday.

For that I need a certificate of residence. I'm not sure which form is the correct one.

I'm In Pattaya and went to 3 shops. One told me I should come back at Thursday when the manager is in house. It's a Yamaha Nouvo SX with 16k KM. I bought it new and did every service.

One shop told me, to late. They would need at least 3 Weeks for the paperwork (register on their name). The extension of stay ends at the 10th. They would offer me 13K Baht.

The other Shop told me, I should come 3 days before (the 7th September) and I get 20K baht.

My questions, is 20K a fair price? And will that work when i go there 3 Days before?

I just want to be sure everything will be fine. I don't want leave the bike here.

I certainly wouldn't wait until 3 days before leaving for a "promised" 20,000 baht.

Go get a "certificate of residence" from Jomtien immigration today or tomorrow, put an advertisement on this forum, baht and sold etc for 25,000 baht if its not sold by the 7th then go to the shop and hope the 20,000 offer still stands.

The 3 weeks to put it into their name is rubbish , dealers dont register to themself they wait for the new buyer and have the DLT register directly to the buyer.

However it could take a while to register new ownership if the bike doesn't have Chonburi number plates and or new owner lives in a different province.

If you had a buyer now and the paperwork forms from the DLT signed and the green book signed you could sell it now, the buyer does all the waiting.

Thanks. Does someone have a working link to the  "certification of residence"?

DLT register signed? I only have the green book.

Another option: A friend would love to buy my bike. He comes in November. He would transfer me the money and i deposit Key and papers to another friend of him. Is this doable?

If you want your friend to buy the bike...but you are not in the country at the time things get a bit complicated.. but not impossible I believe.

what you could do (if you intend to return to Pattaya soonish) is give the friend your green book and keys and they use the bike as if it where theirs then do the
"legal" transfer later .

If thats not an option then you need to give the friend a signed "power of attorney" form

Transfer ownership request form

Sales receipt
(Will attach in next post)
and then send them a copy of your passport showing the immigration "exit from the country" stamp as well as the photo page
You should sign those too.
Sign the green book on the latest owners page.
