Black & Decker Parts

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where I can get Black & Decker parts? Specifically a grass trimmer, and preferably around the Ayutthaya area (though I'd go to Bangkok if I must).

Perhaps the store in Thailand who sold you the Black & Decker grass trimmer can order the parts you want. Or they can give you the name and phone number of who they buy Black & Decker from in Thailand. Black & Decker have an office in Singapore which will answer questions on Stanley or DeWALT or Irwin products in my experience.

I have a similar problem with a B & D strimmer GL300. The bumper that allows more line to feed has worn out completely and the spring has dropped out and missing. I know these aren't expensive, around 1000 baht, but it's annoying, not to mention wasteful, to throw away a functioning  lawn edger because a simple cheap part is unavailable. I have looked in all the places that I know sell the B & D strimmer, but none carry any spares.

I've ordered parts a couple of times direct from Black & Decker Thailand, I contacted them through facebook messenger and they reply quick with good english.

They charge 100Baht flat fee for EMS + the part, I ordered the cover for the bump feed for GL300 it was 160 baht, paid them with bank transfer.

Just checked on the invoice and there is a phone number also if you prefer 02 7484800.

Forgot to say that B&D said you can also order any part through Homepro for 200Baht service fee + the part.

Thanks, good to know.

alphason, very good information, I'll check it out. Thank you. And giddyup, I'm totally with you! Sure, a new one is cheap enough, but the thought of throwing out a perfectly good machine for lack of a two-bit (okay, 50 baht) piece of plastic...  nah, I just can't do it.

Sent off a Facebook message at 12.30 pm but haven't received any reply.

I've bought parts trough these guys via email.  They have always gone out of their way to ptovide what iwas needed and they are an authorized repair center.  If interested, PM me and I will send you Bob's email address.

I also sent a message Friday 6 PM and received no reply (yet). I thought it might be because I don't know how to use that abominable Facebook message thing. Every time I try to do something on Facebook my skin crawls. And Facebook knows it so they purposely screw with me just for the lulz.

Same here, I hate the bloody thing. I did get a  reply today, they say the part is available at Homepro, so it looks like a trip there soon.

I had a reply back, but he says they stock very little in the way of B & D parts, and he wanted to know the part #'s of which I have no idea. It seems Homepro may have the part, so I'll try there first.

When my DeWalt circular saw took a nose dive from the roof he ordered a new handle/casing for it.  But, I did have a P/N that I got from an IPL that I found on the net.  As it turned out the saw model was discontinued and the part that I needed was no longer available anywhere, so I converted it into a small table saw.  You might try searching the net for an IPL.

Okay, I'm off to HomePro on Monday. I'll take the broken part and see what they can do. I'll be going to the Ayutthaya outlet and I'll post back the result. Maybe giddyup will do the same.

Good luck!  I once need new gas spreaders/diffusers for the burners on my Technogas stove.  I put the old ones in a bag so that I would be sure to get the right ones  and went tip the store in Ayutthaya.  When I got there I wasn't allowed to take the bag of parts into the store no matter how much of a farang fit that I threw.  I had to leave them at the check in desk. So I went in to search for new ones.  When I got to to stove area I actually found someone that spoke English and I showed her what I needed and was explicit that it was for a Technogas stove.  She told me that they did not stock repair parts but I could order them for the service department.  She gave me the phone number.  I went home and called the number and yes, it was the service department, but not for Technogas, it was for Electrolux!!!

Turns out Homepro doesn't carry the parts, they will only order for you. If you buy direct from B & D the spool cover is 160 baht and the spring is 11 baht, plus 100 baht postage.

Well, I did get a response from B&D on Facebook over the weekend, so I didn't go to HomePro. It took a couple of back and forth messages (and a photo) to insure we were talking about the same part, but it seems we're on the same page now. I transferred the money (265 baht including EMS) and got an acknowledgment. Now I just wait until I actually get the part and confirm it's correct.

Actually I'm kind of impressed. I'd still rather conduct business via email (Facebook is so crappy!), but at least I wasn't ignored. And I may get the part! Woo-hoo!

The part I actually need is the GL300 Spool. This has the bumper piece that's worn through, and it is available from Homepro for 160 baht, I just checked online.  I still need to source the spring that was lost, but hardly worth doing a bank transfer to B & D for 11 baht.   https://www.homepro.co.th/product/237389

Yeah, that's what B&D thought I was talking about and, yeah, they tried steering me to the 160 baht HomePro item. But I need the part that holds the spool in place. The snap on part that the line (string) feeds through. I'm hoping I get what I want.

I believe that's called the Spool Cover.

Good to hear. Did you have to go to your bank to do the money transfer, or could you do it online?

Did it online. I use BBL (BKK? Anyway, Bangkok bank). Two step process. (1) Add Black and Decker account to transfer list, get a secret number by SMS, & enter it. (2) Make the actual transfer, get another secret number via SMS, enter it and done. Seems secure and not too onerous.

Had to make a trip to SBC to make the transfer. Need to update my account so I have online facilities.
