Smoking in enclosed Pattaya area restaurants

That maybe so but the girls who smoke  ( in general) tend to be in a hurry, have bad attitudes, more likely to have alcohol/drug problems .

They don't look sexy. They look stupid. Their clothes, hair, body and breath smells. They have yellow fingers and teeth. It ages the face and skin. Wherever they go dragging along the odour of tobacco. If you go to her room it stinks. They are always wasting time smoking.

Luckily none of this bothers me short time. The smell is usually quite mild when they are younger. Women who have been smoking for many years are a different story.

 This place must be paradise for some folks around here : Reckless drivers, smoking in restaurants, rude Asian males. Outside of the oblivious and those for the girls, why would any others put up with it ?

Nothing about demons or angels. Equivocation of cigarette smoke in enclosed restaurants (where it is already banned by law) to pollution or vehicle engines is the only exclusive domain of so called "smokers". Simply, they are self entitled and deluded addicts who insist foisting cigarette smoke on all and sundry is some kind of right of a free man upon the land.

 

I have only confronted them two times in my life once when I saw a lit cigarette thrown out a car window on RED fire day in a national forest ( physically attacked, that did not work out well for the culprit) and a drunk in an elevator(some vile threat). Something wrong with these people.

 

I us d to think banning smoking outdoors was too much but visited Sapporo, Japan this month they have smoking cabins now at the public parks paid for by the tobacco industry, and a fine for walking with a cig in certain areas. No smoke allowed near the kids swings and slides.

 

A very reasonable solution to "the smoker question".

Still haven't eaten at the "bad offender" smoke bomb restaurant in the O.P.

Walked by one night and a table of the suspect nationals were eating but not smoking, but didn't seem worth the risk.

Also, I was told they have a machine from Bangkok on order that will improve a large segment of their menu, say no more, but it hasn't arrived yet.

Don't know if it will ever arrive.

Post # 187 edit.                              The problem in this area is that smokers outnumber non smokers. Everywhere you look there is a shitload of cigarette smokers.

We are not talking about the various imperfections and "sins" of people who do not smoke cigarettes.

It is only about smoking in places such as enclosed restaurants where it is already forbidden by Law.

The "Final Solution to the Smoker Question" is enclosed smoking cabins in public spaces , entirely funded by the Tobacco industry, as exists already  in Japan.

Taking a walk down the street in Tokyo as you pass the entrance to the car-parks the smell of smoke is at the least noticeable and more often than not quite strong. 

 

It surprised me that this was allowed. While I like the idea of preventing people from smoking on the streets which effects non-smokers, there must be a better way of handling this instead of placing smokers out of the way, hiding them in car-parks like second-class citizens. 

 

So, I don't think Japan has it right either, but the smoking booths you mention are a start, I've never seen one though. I'd hope they are very well ventilated, if they are anything like the smoking booths at the airports they would be horrific. 

 

 

With regards to smoking I would like to see a couple of things happen. I'd like to see smokers be more considerate of those around them and do their best in their attempts to avoid non-smokers while smoking. 

I would also like to see the shrinking-violets prevent themselves from their childish over reactions when the 'smell a little cigarette smoke'. Equally so, the non-smoking nazi's could do with lightening up a little. 

 

In short - a balanced all round mutual respect for those who do not do things the same way or have the same habits would go a long way towards making life a lot easier for all concerned when these issues crop up.

I live a long way from pollution. Tolerance is a two way street and smokers should be aware of the damage to the health of staff in bars, be aware of the dreadful smell of ashtrays, and recognise that even through they might have got used to the stink other people do not want their bodies or clothes to smell rank. Smoking is not to be tolerated anymore than spitting or other dirty, unhygenic, anti social habits. It is the habit of oafs, morons and those who think they are still living in the 1950s.  That is the reason it is curtailed in many countries including Thailand.

Was there again Monday thru Thursday.

 

I went in a smoking room at Narita airport (tried to buy drinks from a vending machine). 

Of course it stunk, why should there ANY ventilation when smokers like smoke so much?

 

No smell from the car parks. Similarly why drive a car hanging an arm out American style with lit cigarette?  If smoke and ash is so great why not keep it inside for ones exclusive enjoyment.

 

The autumn food market in the park was very nice. No smoking allowed in the tents and tables. 

Here a portable building provided for the ciggie people.

 

 

It was so nice to sit outside enjoying 13c night air with fine food and drink. Would have been RUINED had cigarette smoke been wafting about.

Smoking was the height of fashion then and no one complained because it was not socially acceptable, but it still bothered a lot of people. I was a child then and remember how everything stank when smokers lit up anywhere they pleased.

The vast majority of people do not smoke. It is a habit of the ignorant and obdurate. It is an indefensible habit which severely damages the health of the smoker and the people around him. It stinks and no smoker has a right to impose their  filth on other people. It's nauseating. People who think otherwise are deluded. If people wish to smoke then they can do so at home. Nothing clever, crown, up about smokers. JUst silly sick souls lacking in character, with gurgling coughs, hacking and sneezing their dirt on to other people....and not understanding why we hate the chimneys!

It seems to bother you more than it bothers most people. If it was as bad as you suggest, smokers would have no friends.
