You could try Australian tea tree oil (expensive) or Thai-made Kela (cheap), available from the better pharmacies. Both have worked for me when all else failed.

Good luck.

Quadriderm didn't work...?

This product cleared it up overnight!

As others have commented, before you go to bed wash affected area thoroughly with your preferred shower gel or soap.

Make sure you rinse off all traces of gel/soap and then dry with clean unused towel.

Apply liberal amounts of Sudocrem on both sides of your groins, wash hands and wear loose shorts.
Will sting a little bit at first, but the magic cream will begin it's magic healing process.
The inflammation and itching will have reduced by the morning and will quickly heal.
The main thing is to make sure you dry yourself properly after bathing or showering.
Once you have thoroughly dried yourself, apply talcum powder, preferably unperfumed or baby talc.

The problem using the cream for too long a period, your skin gets addicted to it.

This happened to me when I was working in the UAE, my GP sent me to the specialist, he told me that the skin was now addicted to the cream and was in withdrawal.

He prescribed the same cream I had been using plus another, I had to mix the creams 50/50 and rub into the affected area, the doc told me (and this the important part) as soon as the rash subsides one or two days stop using the cream and use talcum powder to keep the area dry.

I have yet to find a cream that kills it completely, I was using Daktacort but now I use Lymarin cream it’s as good but cheaper, for talcum powder I use New Born it has zinc oxide and you can buy it at Tops, Tesco, and Big C. and many other super markets it is only 50 to 55 baht

Max uses of cream 3 to 4 days or as soon as rash has gone, NOT SIX WEEKS

May I suggest wearing looser garments. Only wear cotton. And disposing of your  synthetic mix tighty-whitey underware. Drying thoroughly after a shower and going commando where possible. Once you have killed off the fungus I'd suggest dusting your dangly bits and nether regions with prickly heat powder as part of your dressing routine.

Alternatively dry off in front of a fan after showering.

Oh and if you are a tad pudgy.. Loose some weight.. Mould likes to grow in damp cracks

I had to stop wearing underwear, read an article that recommends boiling your underwear in a water bleach solution to kill all bacteria, hot dryer dry them before wearing them again - it worked in Africa, but when I got back to Thailand, it started again, threw out all my underwear, now go 'commando'  hasn't returned been about five months.  Before that I used clotrimazole in the crotch area.  You're right about that Snake stuff  -  burned like hell and I wound up with seeping sores, gave it to a homeless guy on the overpass.   Good luck.

..TTOil is a good antiseptic..Lamisil cream in evening after wash with anti-fungal shampoo, then Clotrimazole Dusting Powder 1% w/w in the morning..but expect a two month treatment regime..at least continue the treatment one month after it appears to have cleared up...need only treat the outer ring area as it enlarges...this is the exact advice Chiang Mais leading dermatologists gives at his popular clinic here on MonMuangRd...hope this helps.

Lots of solutions here....but also keep in mind that fungi feed on sugar, in fact doctors are trained to check for diabetes in patients who continually present with fungal infections. Cut sugar and simple carbs from your diet while you clear up the problem and you will have an easier time.

If you're near the sea, try swimming every day. Most fungal infections are killed by salt water.

If you are not near the sea try sitting in a bucket/bowl of salt water.

My brother swears by Marmite; or Vegemite! Not too sure on that one. I'll ask him and re-post.

Is there a pic of this skin prob'?

Are you psychic or someone who knows me hiding (like me) behind an avatar?!

I tried Quadriderm, but while it ameliorated the problem it didn't cure the condition. Kela - which has to be used sparingly as it contains cortisol, did the trick in the end.

All these creams, ointments and powders, tables, soaps and plant extracts, changing washing powders, changing clothes, air con on, sunlight, etc...

Guys, all you need is the rubbing alcohol... the itch will stop straight away.. and the skin will heal up very quickly in about a week and you are cured.

But if you want to spend you time visiting doctors, hospitals and spend money of expensive creams and lotions and a new wardrobe then that's up to you.

Actually I use rubbing alcohol as a body wash a couple of times a week and its damned good for most minor skin irritations as well as killing any chance of BO forming. Great stuff.

True enough!

Some prob's are due to the epidermis not doing its job properly. It's the first line of defence from outside. If the problem has penetrated into the dermis then it is more complex. A lot of washing with this and that is a waste of time. The body is its own defence. Get it in balance and you don't have to keep washing every 5 minutes. Once every couple of days is fine.

You wash every couple of days? British by any chance?

You might try zinc oxide (commonly sold here for diaper/nappy rash) and/or aloe vera.

I've found that overuse of some antifungals can actually be an irritant that perpetuates the problem. Zinc oxide and aloe vera tend to reduce skin irritation and promote healing.

Wife suggested this, that was 8 years ago. Works perfect. Available in all drugstores. Once or twice applied.. gone. Noticed that eating a lot of sugar makes it come back fast....

That stuff is Zam Buk, developed in the UK about a hundred years back....

A UK company might have slapped a patent on it, but some of the main ingredients are not indigenous to the UK so seems unlikley + there is a town in Africa called Zambuk, although my money is on Asia as the original source...then meandered its way to the UK via the old empire trade routes.
