There is no alcohol, tobacco, weapons, or sex in Thailand. I know this because I have seen their TV shows and all of those things are blurry. The people have grown up not knowing what they are.

never understand why the thai government stop companies adverise their product.bars can not do it.this area the same.no matter where u go if u smoke or drink and have your favourites product banning them to advertise  is silly.look at amercia  and just imagine if the government did the same.do not advertise your beer or cigs.

The do it in America as well. In a city where I worked it was illegal for bars who had legal sidewalk tables and chairs to use sun umbrellas with beer brand advertising.

No wonder less farangs want to come here and are going other countries : it’s all getting over regulated ...too puritan. Too costly also with baht kept high.

Typical authorities in Thailand, let's think of ways to stop people having fun

Same as most countries. Crime is money. If not enough money, make more things a crime. The drug war is a perfect example of this. It's got zero to do with helping the public...Everything to do with money and power. The public has been brainwashed since the 60's.

See Portugal for an excellent example of how it SHOULD be done.

The Government seems determined to suck the fun out of everything,

no wonder the population are getting so angry,so many road rage

incidents, they are afraid beer adverts will encourage people to drink,

as if people did not have a mind of the own,to make choices, wonder

wha they will clamp down on next.

regards worgeordie

Who's voting for the JUNTA. In your dreams. Alchaol bans bar closures. They can try vote buying in the villages. Thaksin will pay more. Lol

If the 'Boss' has got any sense, he should bring in all these idiots and inform them to stop being prats. This is why Thailand keeps having the generals take over, The holier than thou, sit in their padded clouds and because their lives are empty and pointless like a thief in a gold vault with everything he always wanted  and has , but nowhere to go. Their minds started deciding on things that make them jealous of not being able or cannot do because they don't know how! Is the Boss up there or is he able to stop these people before they really cause the problems to enlarge.  the country has to restart again!

More stupidity. I'm waiting for a red-faced retraction or even a complete ignorance of this idiotic 'clampdown'. What a tight-arsed wet towel.

No surprise reallly, everything in Thailand is illegal, even this comment in all probability, its just whether and when they decide to enforce it.

Mushrooms: kept in the dark and fed Bullsh!t

Lets not put all the blame on the Boss, We have all worked for bosses who  meant  good, But behind his back his underlings, create their own little kingdoms and mess up everything, perhaps he just cannot see what they are doing, or is not being told the full information, and his right hand people aren't keeping an eye on the balls either?

Unfortunately , and as much as I love Thailand for many many visits , development is a hit and miss thing everywhere. There is no consistency. Wonderful shopping Malls beside side streets where it is a miracle that people are not killed every day by the lack of safe pathways . Rats running around food stalls and open fronted restaurants as If they were in charge. , third world and first world all mashed up together. Pedestrian crossings .... what ! It is fun to dodge the cars first and then the bikes that you will not see until it is ... .

But, do not smoke on the beach , in the open air, just go to bar across the road where someone is eating and the person next to him is puffing away away on a real cigarette... the safe ones, electronic, are bannned. It is as if there is a defiant streak in the authorities that states we have the right to be Stupid... do not ask questions !

Far too many people having 'fun' these days. I welcome this crackdown. Police should rush to the scene and shut these hubs down as soon as possible.

The Good Ship Thailand...The Captain is a one armed Dwarf, throwing dice along the wharf....in the land of the blind.....

No smoking (unless you buy from the tobacco monopoly)
No drinking (unless you buy from the alcohol monopoly)
Remember!  Happiness to the People.

Back in 2015, beer gardens were the targets of prosecution persecution under Nipon’s predecessor, Samarn Futrakul, who threatened legal action against the same beer conglomerates,

There you go fixed it. :whistling:

All the vloggers are to blame, walking around videoing everything just to get money to stay here. Thanks boys

I remember 2 years ago that police on motorcycles had shirts with Chang advertisement.

Funny change of mind:smile:. I think we can do well without both: Advertisement on policemen and putting beer gardens into the criminal corner.

Why don't they just Ban alcohol and make it a class A drug like the others after all kills more than any other drug . anyone selling should be classed as a drug dealer . OHHH why not they are banning everything else /also ban loud music from bars   .also ban loud speaker adverbs from moving pick ups ect . also make a prison sentence for motorbike with no lights an on and on   welcome to land of B. Nipon Chinanonwait ... threatened to crack down on similar events nationwide on the grounds that they entice the public to drink.

I don't need an enticement to drink. If I want a beer, I'll go to the pub, or to the closest off-licence (retail outlet). If I don't, I won't.

That'll please Pure Place in Ramkhamhaeng Road. They've not long opened what I think is their first.

You're forgetting Bangkok police chief, Sanit Mahathavorn, who is - or was - on a monthly retainer from Thai Beverage.

Slightly off topic, but I will share my gripe anyway.

The good lady sat down at a kerbside noodle shop earlier for her daily noodle fix.....

We had had a busy day and Both needed a break and some refreshment.

I decided I fancied a cold beer , which they did not sell, so I toddled off around the corner where I knew there was a 7/11.

my watch said 1.58pm.

got the beer to the check out, the time on the till had just ticked to 2.00pm.......

Yep you guesssed it....."sorry cannot sell now".........

the boy even said it with a smirk.....I know what I felt like doing, but I laughed loudly and sarcasticaly, and left.....

God was I wazzed off......
