Hi Mau

Not sure your english skills will improve here, but it will certainly help with any unruly customers.

Welcome to our corridors with many side routes of hospitality and discourse, get stuck in and plant a few ideas among the residents and stir fry some good old recipes of hot topics.

Sure your not thinking of a little white duck, Burl Ives

There's a little white duck sitting in the water

a little white duck doing what he oughter

he took a bite of a lily pad

flapped his wings and he said "I'm glad

I'm a little white duck sitting in the water

quack! quack! quack!"

I'm a bit concerned about LBD, he moved to the Philippines quite a few months back, we communicated a bit in FB for a while, and then he dropped off the radar. No reply to an email that I sent him back in April either.

I'll send him another one.

44 years old

Living and working in Bangkok

Working for a "larger" tourist company

born and raised in Hamburg/ Germany

stayed their until I turned 40

lost a job, another chance blew...so I decided "if you ever want to abroad in your life...this has to be it"!

Thailand amazes me in many different ways: some good, some bad.

To answer some typical questions:

- yes, I like most Thai food very much!

- I like Thai women as much as any other type of woman. I am a bit "into" the asian type, though. The dilemma with Thai women: when they are beautyfull, thay are GOD- DAM GEORGEOUS!

- I "dated" bar girls and "normal" women...and must say, the freaks were always the ones that were supposed to be "normal".

- I speak Thai "nit noi"- even I was considered a fast language learner, I find "pasa Thai" to be horribly complicated.

- I am liberal, left wing and consider myself a humanitarian.

- I can not deny my German roots (and why would I), but I am generally open and tolerant to everybody. If you are an @sshole...it doen't matter where you are from.

- I love football and cheer for FC St. Pauli and the Danish National Team (see?!)

- I love reading

- I love music (rock, mostly)

- I am cynic and sarcastic, which needs some getting used to...but I am not evil- spirited, in general!

That's it for now!

Welcome to the forum docn

And happy new year :)

Me? Born in Lanark, Scotland. Nice town with two claims to fame, it is the oldest market town in the UK I believe, and the scene at the start of Braveheart involved the Sheriff of Lanark. He was the bad guy that killed William Wallace's lady, bad boy. There is still a sheriffdom in Lanark so it's an old town to say the least.

Married early so my three kids are adults, been divorced for 9 years. My 17 year old daughter has high level aspergers and is a genius artist. I've one grandson.

I own 3 businesses in the retail trade and I currently live in central Glasgow. I spend three months of the year in Asia and Chiang Mai is my second home. I also have an involvement with a company that sells whisky into the Chinese market so I'm back and forth to Shanghai.

Been dating my sweetheart in CM for a year and it's been a pleasure even though like all Thai girls she knows how to drive me crazy :-)

I reckon I've got three or four years of full time work ahead of me and Thailand will be my home for half of the year, I want to see every continent before I kick the bucket so travel is on the agenda for my future.

Love life, love Thailand, love dancing and a right good sing song, and sometimes a good debate which I often get here on Thaivisa.

It's actually good to put a little bit of background info to a nickname so here goes...

24 years old, born in Manchester, UK. Graduated at Manchester Metropolitan University doing Graphic Design (it was actually called Design with Art Direction but I think that's an artfag type of name...) I came to South East Asia travelling during a gap year and fell in love with Thailand. I went back to the UK after travelling and landed myself a job with a legal publishing company in London. I also did alternative and fetish modelling on the side. I lived there earning pretty good money but wasn't happy with my life so I took the plunge and did a CELTA and became a qualified EFL teacher. I moved to Thailand in November 2011 so I am still learning a lot about the place but Thaivisa is assisting me on that quite nicely. I live in Bangkok and love it here. I have a Thai boyfriend who I met when I first came travelling all those years ago but we're going through quite a rocky patch at the moment. I have my own apartment, I teach in one of the top government high schools in Thailand and I'm quite happy with my income and life so far. :)

I would say the only downside I have noticed so far seeing as I had such a vibrant social life and many friends in the UK is that I feel quite lonely in Bangkok. I have friends but I think I need to branch out more and find new social circles.

Does the Manchester Met still have a large investment in Apple Mac equipment?

I used to do some IT support for them, but that was a bloody long time ago.

Welcome to Bedlam, but you're making me feel old ;)

Yes we have a lot of Apple Mac equipment in Manchester Met. They were pretty much used exclusively in the art building. :)

Apologies for making you feel old Grandpa! *runs and hides* biggrin.png

Bless you sweetie....

Children are hereditary, if you don't have any, neither can they.

I'm the last in a long line of cute, but pretentious little, what's the word..............
