Soi Bukaw

Problem with this street is that it's dangerous for pedestrians we have zero rights apparently.

some improvements ban all the parking of motorbikes in the whole soi. Make it a one way street for vehicles abd make nice wide pavements on both sides of the road. Pattaya is such a walkable city if they would begin to give pedestrians much more rights and begin to benefit pedestrians over motorized vehicles like its common in Europe.

Not so long ago girls feared to walk down Soi Bua Khao for fear of having their bags snatched etc Just a dirt road.

It only opened up because the cheap charlies started to move there. There is nothing to see there. Why should it be pedestrianised?

If you like Europe so much, perhaps you should holiday there...... or just avoid Soi Bua Khao. It is what it is. Stop complaining.

Yes its more dangerous than riding a motorbike there, that's for sure. One way is a good idea, although many people will be against it because they need both ways

I think the OP needs to go back to bed for the afternoon. He's really having a bad day. First Taxis, now Soi Boukeaw, next...?

Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Some people don't find a day complete without kvetching about something.

I don't feel the need to walk down Soi Buakhao often, but when I have done I  never felt doing so was particularly life threatening.

Logic would indicate that he find somewhere else to walk or take a song Taeow or hire a motorcy taxi (all of which provide their own thrills) rather than blathering on about his rights.

Nanny state mentality run amok. Whine and expect Big Brother to intervene in every aspect of your life.

OP...try wearing roller blades so you can keep up with traffic.

As a motorist

I get fed up with all of these pedestrians sloping around, criss-crossing the road in SoI Bhua Khao, gazing at the girls and lady boys.

Get your brains out of your trousers and concentrate on what's important

Your well being

Only joking ?????

LOL. Buakhao has nice wide pavements. Unfortunately all the shops and hotels etc have used them to expand their premises.

Maybe they should ban vehicles, or at least most vehicles, and call it Walking Street.

That soi isnt even so small if u ban all these parking bikes and make it one way.

Thais need to realize that if they would like to live longer then they better begin to start walking much more.

Some Thais only walk 120-340 meters/steps  a day so alarm bells should be ringing.

Hehe ?.well these Pattaya Taxies got a lot of nerve writing Taximeter on their roofs and then never use it how bizar.

They need to write the word No in front of it better.

No Taxi Meter!

That's the last thing we need... it's noisy enough without alarm bells as well

Not only soi Buakhao...Soi Diana....soi Lenke...all the area...

" ban all the parking of motorbikes in the whole soi."....what about cars?

Sidewalks are for motorbikes in Pattaya, silly OP

Never heard of soi bukaw

I've seen Buakhao spelt various ways but never Bukaw. The op is correct about it being dangerous for pedestrians especially at the Lengkee junction, but I personally don't want it made one way, it is convenient for me to go both ways on the baht bus ....

I meet with friends for "lunch" at a place on Soi Buakow most Saturdays. The ones that astound me are the idiots riding push bikes there. I can only hope they didn't have children.

It's not Europe fortunately that's why we choose to be here. Just face the oncoming traffic , you will be fine.

Yes, whenever possible walk on the right.

I remember two cases of pedestrians killed on 2nd rd but not on Soi Buakhao.

Although some big bike hools seem to work on that

I am always stunned how few accidents happen in this chaos (like Soi Diana [Lengkee]/Soi Buakhao).
