Thanks, do you think my bike will be safe overnight? Is anyone watching it?

I can not see anyone being they at night time ,I think  the bike parking  is a private enterprise, nothing to do with the station, the park is mainly a day time thing ,I would say no more than 2-3 bikes would be paked there over night .

I would buy a chain and padlock, and chain the bike to post at the bike park, explain to the woman in charge you want to leave it  they overnight, you should be ok .

Or leave your bike at the police station ,but that is the other end of town , they is a regular  transport service from the police station  to the railway station, Rot -Song-Tell, the pickups with 2 rows of seats , all painted red , about 8 baht  per journey ( or it was ), just wait at the footbridge .

Thanks for your help Kickstart. I am now forgetting about Lopburi in case of damage to my bike from the monkeys, I am now moving on to Auttahaya, do you know if there is overnight secure parking at the train station there?

Monkeys do not get as far as the railway station, thay are all chased away ,I have left my motorbike in and around the area of the railway station a good few times over the years , and never had any problems with monkeys.

As for Ayutthaya ,I would say it would be the same as Lopburi ,no secure overnight parking ,as I said  buy a chain and padlock, should not have any problems.

Thanks, I will try and find out more before my next trip next month. Maybe try and find secure parking somewhere nearby. I get your point about a chain and padlock, but I would think that the locking system on my bike would be just as secure, although I accept I could be wrong there.

I think that Ayutthaya would be the best place as it is nearby the main highway between Bangkok and Nakhon Sawan, while Lopburi is about 20 Ks from that same highway ( Highway 1 I think) and a lot further from Bangkok.
