Am not sure, seems that a passport is mandatory to fly domestic.

Americans MAY use a passport to fly domestically, but it is not required.

Most state driver licenses and all military/federal ID cards can be used as well.

I tend to disagree.

Chinese tourists spent 12% more on tourism abroad in 2016

2016 was another strong year for outbound tourism from China, the world’s leading outbound market. International tourism expenditure grew by US$ 11 billion to US$ 261 billion, an increase by 12% (in local currency). The number of outbound travellers rose 6% to 135 million in 2016. This growth consolidates China’s position as number one source market in the world since 2012, following a trend of double-digit growth in tourism expenditure every year since 2004.

With a 12% increase in spending, China continued to lead international outbound tourism, followed by the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom and France as top five spenders.

You are both right.  Numerically it will grow because now only 5% have passports. Even just 7% with passports would be a 40% increase and there is over a billion of them at home so that will almost certainly happen. Reaching 20 or 30% with passports may never happen.  Let's hope they all go to Mars as tourists when they reach that level.555.

Try 100%.

There are currently 120 million Chinese passport holders.

It is predicted to get to 240 million by 2020. And they all want to come to Thailand.

Like the thread says "you ain't seen nothing yet".

Just wait......

The Chinese are making great progress taking over Laos. Cambodia is next. Economically they are aiming to take over the world. Their new big navy base in north Africa is a sight to behold. Think about have they dump more than $500 billion of their junk on the US market yearly. They refuse to allow US products into China without huge import taxes. THERE IS NO SLOWING OF THE CHINESE.

It is too late to stop the Chinese unless you embargo their goods. There will be no freedom in Laos and Cambodia in the next few years.

Neither State is hardly a paragon of democratic virtue right now.

The Chinese are turning the Cambodians into economic slaves...I dont keep up with Laos to much but I have been following the situation in Cambodia, Sihanoukville in particular.....By the time the Chinese are through with Cambodia the only jobs left for the Cambodians will be only the most menial jobs....

Thank goodness they can not build casinos in Thailand.....

Makes absolutely no sense as the Chinese are not working in Cambodia.

Actually, those ¨menial jobs¨ would be non existent w/o the Chinese there.

A ¨menial job¨ is better then no job for a Cambodian.

Figure it out....

Yes, but the only problem is that the Chinese economy will not grow and grow. It's been doing that for 25 years. It's about to get absolutely rocked.

Over extended, useless govt enterprises. A real estate bubble that makes Bangkok sane in comparison. Endemic corruption. Absolute inability to stop stealing intellectual property. Dictatorship.

Sihanoukville, Cambodia

They've already invaded Siem Reap. Angkor Wat is crawling with them. The airport! Flying out of Siem Reap recently really brought home the gravity of the situation. Have they reached Sihanoukville in large numbers?
