Start with crypto now - Should or not?

Featured Replies

I heard the sad news around the bitcoin, while I’m just interested with crytocurrency world. However, I trust the future of it, this can be the right time to buy too much regardless of threats. My friends advise me to stop thinking investment, but I want to start as a newbie because I lost my belief in current money. So which platform is the best choice now?

Whether I should choose a new one. I see the advertisement of Nextycoin with many benefits as Instant transfer, zero transfer fees and Dual Cryptocurrency, maybe strong technology. It seems to be so sexy but it’s too difficult to believe because it’s rather new. Should a newcomer buy the new platform?

Please tell me your idea. Thank you!!

Don't know anything about that one, but it is not unique. There are several cryptocurrencies out now that make similar claims. Any investment in this industry is highly speculative. My advice is to invest in the person, not the story. Check out the backgrounds of the people behind any cryptocurrency and see what they have done previously. If they have no history of anything in any industry, that is usually a bad sign. Even young students, if they are smart, partner with mentors.  Be prepared to lose 100% of anything you put in and you won't be disappointed. All cryptocurrencies are new, even the old ones. The territory is still largely unexplored and is not for the fainthearted.

if you are interested in fast, free, instant crypto transfers, the coin right now that is gaining lots of popularity is XRB (raiblocks, but recently renamed to "nano").

but a word of warning to noobies, stay away from icos until you understand the technology or have money you are willing to risk/gamble and will not be mad if it is all lost.

Technology means nothing in the current market. Only volume. Nobody wants the cryptos anyway. What everybody really wants is FIAT.

There IS a sale on right now - so start by opening an exchange account. If you are in Thailand I would suggest bx.in.th as links easily with Thai bank and have multiple crypto currencies you can trade. Usual disclaimers; only invest what you can afford to lose and do not get too greedy/take profits when you can. Cheers!

Nobody, unless it's a lambo...

Cryptos are going through a correction because of their fast rise last year. Add to that the bad news (most of it blx) issuing from the media on a daily basis. I reckon it'll recover, but I think it still has someways to fall. I'm all in fiat at the moment but I'm thinking of re-entering at about 7,8k if it drops to there, which I think it will after this small rise.

If you aren't sure, a good way is to buy in steps. Small buys over a period of time.

I could be wrong.

I'll be buying when it gets to a penny - just in time to lose it all.

well if you believe that time to fill your boots then as it is absurdly cheap. I'll give it a miss - tempted by gold though - stormy times ahead.

The world is changing, although maybe not so much for the age bracket on thaivisa.....

That survey sure weighs heavy. Millennials prefer bitcoin to gold. What could possibly be wrong with that? Millennial: The epitome of financial wisdom

A few weeks ago I created an account with CoinSpot. I threw $750 at 3 different alt coins. Ripple, Cardano & Siacoin.

Today my $750 is worth about $550 but I'm not too bothered.

It was mainly to create an account if I wanted to get serious. From what I've seen the prices go up and down like a Thai birds knickers by the minute.

I'm still doing a lot of reading and learning but it's an interest.

Yeah, that's why I only threw a small amount at it. I wish I'd done it 8 years though as my 750 might have kickstarted my retirement. Hindsight's a great thing.

bitcoin can only be baned in a fascist police state with no internet, and in any case some countries have already embraced it. I would argue that this last bubble from around $1000 to $8000 now is mainly from Japanese investment due to their governments acceptance of it. Singapore and Switzerland also

Yes definitely...go ALL in! Let it ride! Take a flyer on something that is...

...a digital, shit-filled bubble mania which...

1. has NO intrinsic value

2. has HIGH volatility

3. Is highly unstable

3. IS gambling, not an investment

4. Is purely SPECULATIVE

Cryptos...

Understood...NOT

Private...not

Free transactions...not

Tax free...not

EZ to use...not

Widely accepted...not

Even Minimally accepted...not

Safe...not

Secure...not

Intrinsic value...NONE (this bears repeating)

To sum it up...an overblown, over-inflated, over-ripe shit filled balloon that is going to explode. Sure...a lucky minority will make or have made BANK...while the vast majority are about to get hosed.

Great answers made by people who have no clue what they are talking about, as usual. Nobody can make any real predictions about the coins, period. No need to spread things you cannot substantiate.

As to my opinion, the coins are presently bottoming, I only assume this. The moment to start buying carefully, is near. Bit by bit. I think Ripple (XR) is better to trade in than Bitcoin itself as the possible gains are much, much higher. This is only a suggestion, as I have made quite a lot of gains with this altcoin. And its the third most traded coin.

The old dinosaurs are dying, its only a matter of time before millennials control the majority of the world's wealth (even the ones who inherit it...
