Vet, Clinic, Hospital should be able to give you a list.

They did here in Khon Kaen but we were just too late sadly.

thanks for your reply, they thought we had more chance of getting the blood here in korat,we already got some positive help,so once the blood can be matched with our boy then he will go to kohn kaen for the surgery, which includes.

removal of his spleen and a blood transfusion.

many thanks TAFF.

its very very difficult for me to come to terms with this,4 samples taken yesterday no match's.

the problem is this has to be fresh blood, and there are at least 8blood groups.

meatboy.

Really sorry to hear that.

Although I am sure that you understand all about the blood donation process and I understand that maybe one transfusion may not be sufficient, I thought the following information may be of help.

Can human blood be given to dogs ?

Unfortunately dogs do not share the same blood group. However they are different to humans (and cats) in that if they only ever receive 1 transfusion in their life even if it is not the same type, in very simple terms any dog can donate to any dog.

Can you give an animal human blood?
Blood transfusions, however, require stringent matching to avoid life-threatening reactions in blood recipients. It is uncommon for humans to donate blood to animals for these reasons. But brand new research suggests that humans can donate a blood serum protein called albumin and save the lives of their pets.Dec 4, 2014

Some good advice in the above link about requirements of donating dogs blood.

do you still need blood? perhaps if you create a posting on fb i could share with my circle of friends

sorry for the late reply,he is now being treated at CHULA.hospital in Bangkok.there is a big problem with getting a match for any dog.with over 8 different blood groups some also has letters as well.we got good support over the 2 days with 9 people bringing their beloved ones for testing, sadly not one match.they at CHULA have all the latest equipment and top doctors.so after all the tests yesterday 6am-5pm.they say he can come home but has to go back in 2 weeks.

there are a few concerns as to why surgery cannot go ahead.

so tomorrow I am looking forward to giving him a big kiss and hug.

Great to hear that so many people showed with their dogs for testing, a real pity that there were no matches.

As "emma12055" suggested FB could be useful, you have a 2 week grace period to hopefully get people to offer their dogs for testing.    If CHULA hospital is able to test dogs for suitability without you being there ( not sure how you could help pay if people had to bring their dogs some distance ), it would allow more people more time options to test.

Have you tried other animal hospitals in Thailand for stored donated blood, e.g. the one at KKU ?

Although not a user / fan of facebook such a posting may be used to encourage people to offer their dogs for blood donation which can be done up to 5 or 6 times a year, the weight regulation ( 25kg ) etc. should be met.

You mentioned that there were a few concerns about why the surgery cannot go ahead.   Has this anything to do with using blood from multiple donations ?    If I am correct the antibody risk factor is high when blood is received from multiple donors as the receivers immune system goes haywire.    Also blood from dogs that have previously received a blood transfusion from another dog are not allowed due to antibody associated risks.  The hospital may also be rejecting blood from unvaccinated dogs for obvious reasons even if they are a match.    The use of human blood may still be an option depending on the hospitals view.

Good luck.

thanks speedo, the cross matching is very complicated, dogs have to be tested, when three matches are found then all three must go to the lab.for the transfusion at the same time, then the blood and your dog must be transported to the hospital all within a certain time.what I understood when chula were contacted they have got his blood group, but they must carry out all the tests. I am not sure I have understood everything as my mind is not working at all,i have been too upset.what I do know IS make sure the commitment you make to take your beloved IS that they know what they are doing.for over 3 yrs.and many postings, every one who has a member of their family, that is what they are, go back a few yrs.in the pet section and read my CONCERNS.

My family and I have had rescue dogs since the 1970's, including a dog and cat from Thailand that were taken back to the UK.   They ( dog / cat ) could not bear to be separated so managed in the 6 months quarantine, managed to get special dispensation for them to stay together to avoid cage fever.   Another dog came from a rescue center in the UK, another we rescued ourselves; one of my daughters has recently rescued a dog from Cyprus saving it from being shot, she managed to raise some of the money through "crowd funding".   All dogs have lived to a ripe old age, the one from Cyprus still fairly young.      The dog from Thailand recently had to be put to sleep, some of her ashes were brought back and spread on the sea near the island where my daughter had been living.

Thanks for explaining the Chula postion, I expect they are testing the viabiity of the blood if it has been stored a while.

Take care of yourselves.

our boy to was rescued, when we decided to get a dog,my bil and wife were staying with us over night as they had a long drive ahead of them.his wife phoned someone she knew who had to leave her dog behind for someone to look after, but he got loose and went missing,it was over 3 weeks and my bil went looking for him the next day.he did find him as there was no husky's in that area,he has been running with some soi dogs and killing chickens.a farmer had caught him and he was held for ransome.bil.paid 10,000bht.to get him.he brought him to us but looked poorly and was only 15kilo's.next morning there was fluid and blood on our house wall,so we called a vet.he had a bad infection, very high temp.and was as the vet said may not survive.after injections and the drip 2days later he got better. he has for the past 6yrs.paid us back with the unlimited love and affection and don't we now it.he is not 8ys.old yet and we will do ANYTHING to see him live another 8yrs.i have never suffered so much pain as to what is happening to me right now.maybe I have been lucky all my life never to endure anything as to what I am going through now.they wife and him are on their way back from bkk.on the gate are his blanket[with the welsh flag] and his 2 soft toys dinkie and teddy that he have had for over 6yrs.i will be there also with a roll of tissue.

Some of us are suckers for animals in distress and I think we are better for it. Found this little guy Nov 30 half dead by the side of the road being eaten alive by lice and flees. He is turning out to be a great friend. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Sorry for hijacking your thread meatboy. Hope all turns out for the best.

Thanks for the cudos guys. I also have 2 cats one with a broken back that someone beat with a stick and the other had a dog bite out 1/4 of his neck and one shoulder. Both are doing well after many hospital visits. Guess I am a sucker for the distressed animals. My wife feeds 7 soi dogs everyday so it runs in the family.
