Sunderland - sad to see this.

Featured Replies

As a north easterner, and Boro fan, it makes me very sad to see Sunderland in such a bad state, as the link posted below. I hope that they will be able to sort out their problems in the near future, and return to some of their former glory.
The north east's influence on the English game is waning, which is an extremely sad state of affairs, when one considers all of the football greats that have come from the area. North East football needs a clutch of big clubs, especially since both Darlington and Hartlepool have both fallen out of the League. I'd like to wish the Black Cats every success in finding a new owner, who can turn things around.

A team full of Man Utd and Everton rejects. Enough said.

The Bolton Messi hammered another nail into their coffin on Tuesday night. Up The Whites!!

Our prayers have been answered, and your team Chelsea will be

beaten too ,as it's too cald for them up there,Southern nancy boys.

Looking forward to playing Accrington Stanley next season, and maybe a derby match with South Shields in another season or two. Lower league football in a mostly empty 48,000 capacity stadium. Bring it on!!

Last time at 3rd level. Sometimes you have to entertain yourselves.

a Burning Spear, Marcus Garvey good morning to you.

Relegated in style conceding 2 late goals to Burton Albion. Six wins in 44 games. Congratulations Ellis Short.

Sunderland will bounce back but I fear it may take them a while this time.

Very sad to see such a big club in such a long slump. I wish Sunderland well and hope to see you back in the Premier in the coming decade.

As a Boro fan, me too. Sunderland fans deserve better. Haste ye back !

How to destroy a Premier League club in 4 easy steps.

1. Appoint directors of football who have no idea about football.

2. Spend stupid money on average players that are often unwanted by the manager.

3. Pay Jack Rodwell 70,000 pounds a week to go shopping at the Metro Centre in Gateshead.

4. Rinse and repeat over a few seasons.

If Sunderland go bankrupt soon, it will not be a surprise.

It's a shame mate. City have been there, seen it and done it. We are in a different world now, the likes of which I wouldn't have dreamed of at the time of playing Gillingham in the play off's. There's always hope mate.

I would like to think so. Sunderland need a similar level of investment to get out of this hole.

They really should have kept faith with Grayson. Coleman has a below average record as a club manager and he will find it very hard to stop the rot.

Blackburn's promotion should give Sunderland some hope as there's club with an even worse state of decline thanks to the Vanky's. Well done Mowbray and his boys.
