Usually no, but who knows what your DLT likes to make up... So if you want to be sure you have to ask the DLT where you plan to do the transfer

Recently they are asking for them in bkk

They even refuse ones that are dated more than 30 days old...

    Up in Khampaeng Phet I show my yellow house book and I have been living here since 2004.

     

    Here at least, there is no problem.

    Whenever I have to do something like that I let me bike shop (or similar) do it for me. They know what is necessary and they do it for you likely for little money. Problem solved.
