Underwater gamblers will be in hot water if that's Krabi!

A group of four divers playing cards for money under water will be in trouble if they were really gambling under the sea in Krabi.

 

But authorities think that it is probably just a prank done abroad even though Thai money is clearly visible.

 

A video of the "card school" has been shared all across Facebook since early March.

 

Four people with lots of ten baht coins are playing a game.

 

Pol Lt Col Anurak Parinyasathirakun of the Krabi water police said he did not believe it was in his jurisdiction.

 

Woraphot Lormlim of the national park that covers the Phi Phi area said that the clip was probably filmed abroad.

 

But if it was in Thailand the perpetrators could face prosecution.

 

Thailand has strict laws regarding gambling including cards.

driving on the worlds most dangerous roads in the world is a gamble every Thai plays daily 

The only reason they are saying it was not in their jurisdiction is that they cannot do anything about it.

How on earth will they identify the players or location

Sorry people but many countries have coins that look like the 10 Baht coin.

I finally understand Thailand's need for submarines.

 

Underwater gamblers won't stand a chance once the fleet takes sail.

Now! We know what the submarine is for......................

If Gambling is such a big deal and a big No for Thailand .why is there a government lottery surly that comes under gambling ?

Wouldn't they have to be registered and permitted.

It is all too obvious that it is in another country. Look the water is clear, where can you find that in Thailand?

They are gambling in international waters, outside Thai jurisdiction.... Not really see the problem, just small change, 10B coins. Who cares?!?

Authorities are not happy. They were really after after the real criminals. 70 year old divers playing bridge were the big fish they wanted.

I'm sure there is no clear water like that anywhere in Thailand.
