VIDEO: Dramatic footage shows man immediately after suspected shark attack in Hua Hin

 

 

Dramatic footage shows the moment a Norwegian man was pulled from the water at Sai Noi beach, Hua Hin after reportedly being bitten by a shark on Sunday.

 

Footage of the incident had been posted to Facebook but was suddenly removed on Sunday evening.

 

But now Thaivisa has obtained additional footage, which shows the moment the man was helped out of the water by a group of onlookers.

 

In the clip the man can be seen being carried by four people, with a large amount of blood coming from an injury to his foot.

 

The man who filmed the footage claimed that the foreigner had been attacked by a shark.

 

 

Another man who said to have witnessed the incident and helped pull the man to safety has also since posted on social media to say that he too believed the injuries were the result of a shark bite.

 

As the footage continues, the injured man is bundled into the back of pickup and taken to hospital by a Thai man who was at the beach at the time of the incident.

 

Claims of shark bite were initially played down, with local officials saying they needed more time to investigate the incident but said the man could have injured his foot on rocks.

 

The foreign man, who is now believed to be Norwegian, required more than 40 stitches in the wound and also suffered broken bones in his foot.

 

On Monday there was further evidence of sharks present in waters close to Sai Noi beach when a local monk shared a video and claimed that up 50 small sharks are regular seen near Khao Tao temple.

 

Speaking to Thai language media on Tuesday, local fisherman said they were not surprised by the incident and that throughout the past year they have been seeing sharks in increasing numbers in waters close to Hua Hin.

 

Meanwhile, officials from the Marine Department said they were to survey the area on Tuesday and that it was too early to confirm or deny the presence of sharks.

The last few years in Hua Hin many negative facts, the bombs in the city, oil in the sea, the anger of the dogs, today the sharks, buddha where are you ?????

You don't usually get broken bones from rocks unless you fall from a height onto them.......and the foot probably wouldn't be bleeding that much from scrape on rocks, whereas a shark goes deeper.
