Thai Rath reported that curious tourists were flocking to the Khao Tao viewpoint in Hua Hin to try to see the sharks in the area.

Some have seen the bull sharks and some have been disappointed.

One who was disappointed was a Thai man with his girlfriend who was being interviewed.

But at least they had the fun of seeing the "shark rock" in the background.

It was a rock complete with eye that looked remarkably like the head of a shark that has become something of a landmark in its own right.

Shark watching fever has been rife in the area after a Norwegian man was bitten earlier in the week while out swimming.

The 54 year old is recovering in a Hua Hin hospital after the attack that has prompted officials to take measures to protect tourists in future.

The real carnage is not in the water, but on asphalt roads.

Actually looks very much like a 6 Gill Shark
