PM assures government will try to resolve Doi Suthep housing problem

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o- cha stressed on Tuesday (Apr 24) that in order to resolve the controversial judges’ housing project on Doi Suthep mountain in Chiang Mai’s Mae Rim district, all parties concerned must adhere to the letters of the law.

 

He defended that the government had not been ignorant about the problem and had been trying to resolve the problem the best it could through legal means.

 

He pointed out that there are several legal aspects that have to be taken into consideration. “Such as whether it is possible that utilization of the buildings can be delayed or not? How to do with the building which were already built? How to do with the buildings which were completed since there is a fierce resistance?”

You have to start from the beginning, Who ordered to make this forest a degraded forest????? As far as I can see there was nothing wrong with it, till they start to ruin the forest.

Who was the owner in the beginning, the military? How can that be possible and they gave/sold it to the Court?

It's all very dark...

There is much more explanation needed and I think this goes back to the corrupt times of  Th.ksin S.  ??

You already know how this will end. Luxury watch anyone?

The most monumentous problem adhering only to the law when considering the nature of the defendant.

Is there any such concept as "conflict of interest" in Thai vocabulary; because it should be figuring in every speech/announcement on this subject!

Would be very interesting to get a real honest comment from the PM regarding the 'stay 10 years...' comment yesterday from the retired chief justice of Thailand.

 

Never happen of course. 

His new love of politics demands it.  The north seems to be less than happy with his performance.

Since when did laws stop you from doing anything?

He is a hard worker, so he sings. He will try to work hard on this.

This seems to have all the hallmarks of a corrupt deal from the word go.

I say let the judiciary live in the hills in a cloud of smoke haze where they cannot see their neighbour the other side of the street and ultimately end up with chronic respiratory illnesses. That's what I call justice!

Transform it into a Casino Resort and make the influential's happy, while telling the common folks you create jobs for thousands.

OK lets have a look umm nope mountain gone in a cloud of smoke.

You are far behind the information curve and some research will serve you well.

In summary "off the cuff so to speak" (anyone feel free to join in):

• the Crown passed title to the military for training uses. The Thai military does not operate as part of the government (although it traditionally holds the Minister of Defense cabinet position) but as a de facto independent organization
• the military subsequently received a request by the Court of Appeals (part of an independent organization) to be granted through a title transfer to the Court of Appeals a small part of the original property with which to develop for courts, offices, apartments and houses; the latter two to be used free of charge as temporary residences by court officials
• the military allegedly made an environmental assessment of the planned development and concluded there would be no impact and granted to the Court of Appeals the requested parcel and development plan
• the Court of Appeals contracted to have the development built
• funding for the judicial system that includes the Court of Appeals comes from Thai taxpayers
• funding for the military comes from the Thai taxpayer and from natural resources and businesses owned by the military

That's Bullshit and he knows it ,,,,, If they had to adhere to the Law There Wouldn't be Any Buildings There Because they Were Built ILLIGALLY
