Fire destroys modified electric car while family sleeps upstairs

By The Nation

Firefighters broke into a shophouse in Pathum Thani to put out a blaze that engulfed a modified electric car while its owner, his family and a worker slept unknowing upstairs early on Saturday.

The Muang Pathum Thani police station and fire station were alerted to the fire at 1:20am and 10 fire engines were dispatched to the three-storey shophouse in front of Pathum Thani Hospital.

Arriving firefighters encountered black smoke pouring out from the ground floor while the front metal rolling door was closed. Firefighters cut open the door and found a Toyota engulfed in the fire.

They took about four minutes to put out the blaze.

Firefighters went upstairs to find Phaisal Tungyarit, 65, and his wife and two children sleeping in their third-floor bedroom, while a worker slept in another bedroom on the same floor.

Phaisal said he had modified the car use to use a battery and solar cell panel. The car was being charged with a wall plug when he went to sleep.

Borzany says it all "As a Thai He knows". In ever profession in Thailand from the shade tree mechanics to engineers with degrees, none of them will ask about something that they don't know as it shows a loss of face. That is why with out European or American overseers, buildings fall down, engines and motors fail.streets and roads collapses ,cities flood and many other things that don;t need to be happening. By the way how much does a Masters Degree in Engineering cost today from a university ?

You are not keeping to the script.

For a large proportion on here ( not all ) only thais make mistakes that never ever happen elsewhere in the world.

These traits are heightened in direct proportion to ones general dissatisfaction with life .

Luv to see what the Frankenstein machine looked like before it committed suicide.

Unlike most perhaps, I actually work with Thais, Chinese, Taiwanese, Malaysians and Vietnamese on a daily basis.  My life is far too adventurous but not dissatisfying.

Thais are well known for sleepjng soundly regardless of the noise and mayhem around them .Security guards and Thais in transit  and this family for example .

Hope this small mishap doesn't affect his plan to launch it into orbit around Mars.

:cheesy::cheesy::cheesy: When has a Native here ever learned from their mistakes, nor others? Electricity not same your Country Mister :coffee1:

As I go on my daily adventures, just cant help but wondering how many welding shops, mc repair shops, and so on, burn to the ground, with owners, workers burning also. I would never live in a shop house, where all this dangerous stuff goes on every day. No zoning, no safety, no one cares, no responsibility. These are not accidents, they are crimes.
