Licences for only 160 drinking water dispensing machines in Bangkok

Only 160 out of almost 4,000 drinking water dispensing machines in the capital have been registered and have proper licences, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s Health Department has announced on its website.
 

They report that a survey found 3,964 drinking water dispensing machines operating in the city, but just 160 of them have licences to do so.

 

The BMA is summoning operators of the coin-water dispensers to register them.

 

The BMA is advising city residents to buy water only from machines that have stickers that report on regular quality checks and the dates of frequent filter changing.

So; take the other 3, 804 away and crush them as they are 'illegal' and could well be selling the quality of water that can endanger people's lives.   When will someone here find the balls to get things properly sorted ?

In the neighborhood we lived in for years in BKK, there were numerous complaints about the stickers on the water dispensers that no one was marking them. Soon, the machine down the road from us had a new sticker and initials that someone had been there. And it is true that someone had started marking the stickers as I saw them several times. But no one ever cleaned the machine or changed any filters...

Couldn't agree more.

 

Seems to me there should be a public warning about the severe lack of professionalism and attention by the BMA to this and a hundred more subjects connected to the health, safety and well-being of the public.

 

IMHO the public should prosecute the BMA for dereliction of their duties in all of these matters.

 

How did the water dispenser situation get to this point? One answer - BMA not active / derelict in their duties!

 

 

 

Why government not take full responsibility for give people clean drinking water and take over for this stations of water machines 

 

Drinking machine are for farangs, Thais know there is a 7/11 at every corner.

What a joke, and this time you cannot blame it on the aliens.

All machines without license are to be removed; simple as that. Should anyone come to claim their machine, a license and a fine of 10x license is due prior to releasing the machine. 

Will put an immediate end to this - but yeah, in Thailand they go and count the illegal machines without action - now how is this for a Tuesday!

Someone is a correct statement, but most are too busy watching out for knives in the back. We all know that so many have SHIT for brains and their Balls are quite so distance from there.

It does, Bangkok tap water is potable and has been shown to be cleaner than some bottled/dispensed water.

Because drinking water machine water is about 15% of the price of 7/11 water. But I must confess that I only use it (boiled first) for coffee and cooking. 

1. How much does the licence cost?
2. What form is used for the application?
3. Where does the application have to be submitted?

Surprisingly good info and appears to be accurate.  Though we use it for teeth brushing, rinsing fruits and veggies and pre-boiling certain vegetables without any negative effects...we do not drink it. That said...other than Japan, have not drank any tap water in any country in 3 decades. Sometimes it's not the water that's in question, but rather the delivery systems...pipes, faucets, etc.
