It is good to know that Thais do complain about these unsightly wires.

If I am not mistaken, the wires they are cleaning up are in fact telephone /internet wires. As I understand it, the electrical authorities "rent" the pole space for the companies to put their wires.Although they are very industrious in putting up the wires, no one seems to take any down; not only that they leave big coils of the things hanging around which add to the mess. Time to go underground including and especially the sois !!

The article is a bit misleading in that it suggests the big mass of wires are electrical but actually only the top row or two are.

Should've started with Pattaya City Hall paid a visit there yesterday, just after the rain, hand rail to assist one to climb stairs form motorcycle carpark must have had a dozen electrical wires wrapped around it, you couldn't grab the rail for all the wiring.

Have seen that on some of the pedestrian bridges in various places, Bangkok especially bad.

Does not really matter. Clean it up now and in a couple of years, (maybe 5) it will be back

to what it is now.
