my driver's license was valid until September 2017 and I forgot to renew it...
What procedure can I now expect?

You have one year after expiration to renew, after that you start from the beginning...

    As previous post: no additional effort/tests.

    Just the usual (physical tests, watching video).

    Depending on your visa status, long term vise = 5 year
