Does it really matter? They are alive.

Respect to all that contributed to the effort.

The parents must be overcome with joy and anxious.

No, it really doesn't matter.  The only reason I said that was because in the Thai media it was said that the Thai Navy Seals found them.  Of course it doesn't matter who found them first.  I'm just glad they found them, all, alive.

I can only imagine the happiness and joy in these kids.  Probably hungry little suckers too.  ?

Amazing result by EVERYONE who participated in this rescue !, from the international crews to the Thai SEALS, from the local labour workers who tirelessly assisted with dragging equipment through rough terrain to the people who simply provided food and water for these workers desperately trying to achieve a result !!

An excellent job done, WELL DONE EVERYONE INVOLVED !!

Glory..Glory Hallelujah ...  Prayers have been answered..Tears of Joy & Happiness

I join other posters here...jubilation! Great News! Congratulations to those involved in the joint rescue effort. As more rain was forecast for this week I wonder what the strategy will be to exit the cave. If more clear weather is forecast for next week maybe rescuers will wait until then, meanwhile making sure the 13 stay safe.

I know it sound strange, but, lets hope the General makes sure that all the international helpers, are granted leave to remain indefinitely with no restrictions without certain official's and department finding problems. now the children have been found. We know 99 per cent won't cause a problem, but, you can be certain there is 1 per cent who would. There will be someone who will blame the Englishmen who arrived first, for pushing in etc. They will forget that these men have much experience, and are really only doing this type of work because they care, and certain Thai's will feel lost of face, but, it won't be from the rescuers. it will be from the pen pushers. So I hope the general and the King will insist that all the people involved have an audience at the palace, and all receive the grateful thanks of the nation from wherever the come from.

Its a bit like the world cup, you attribute the win to a team, not the guy who scored the goal.

Along with thanks to those who kicked the goal/s

This is the best news I've heard in 20 years and so heart-warming to read other members openly sharing their emotions. I've had floods of tears for the past 3 hours.

Totally restored my faith in human nature.

Irrespective of any beliefs, faiths or religion, I certainly used my Christian Faith to pray for these brave lads. We can never know how they have felt for 10 days. I'm sure their coach also worked endlessly to keep their spirits high.

We shouldn't really worry too much who found them cos everyone of the 000's involved have played their part however small.

Hopefully these boys will all be fit and well, reunited with their families and soon recover from this terrible ordeal.

When we all witness International events like this and people from all over working together, why is there so much ill-will and fighting around the globe?.

World leaders should learn from this and work together to try and improve our planet.

And so far, amazingly, not a single rescuer mishap or injury (that I am aware of). I call that SPECTACULAR.

I did hear of one major injury of an outside guy searching for another entrance - but have no worthwhile detail.

Yes fantastic news, now hopefully they can get them all out safely.

Strange choice of the word 'victims', but never mind.

In law enforcement/rescue/search situations, a person who’s been missing for an extended period and where there are serious concerns for their welfare, is referred to as a ‘victim.’

Nothing lost in translation...

The first thing when everyone is out, is an iron bars blocking of the entrance at a safe distance should be put in place to make certain no one enters the cave beyond what is safe without full equipment etc., Knowing Thai youths, there should be no blame, problems occur and it sounds like the coach took care of the kids and this is proven, because they are all still alive 10days later!Lessons are learnt, knowledge gained and Thai rescue services have now ideas that can be formed into correct action plans for future tasks that may occur.

This is the ideal time to start moving all the media reps' and reporters out of the immediate area and leave the rescuers free to get on with it.

One conference a day with them in an area well away from the cave entrance. One report a day is all they need and all they should get.

Very valid point. Even though brilliant work has been done so far by many, the 'operation' is far from over. Safe extraction is now the name of the game.

Organizers at the cave system entrance and on the access roads need to remain firm with the restrictions they already have in place to keep passage for the kids at a maximum before transportation to hospital. It would be a living nightmare if any incidents happened at that stage because of the lack of crowd control.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this successful search. Just goes to show that they did know what they were up to. Well done.

Well, it was late on Monday and they wanted to find the kids before last call at the pub.  Practical lads.

They looked very sane and rather pristine, not too dismilar from those Chilean miners. just saying 11 year olds without food for so long in a dark cave with such composure. god only knows what happened.

Well the kids were out doing something with their young lives instead of staying at home playing their iPads or taking Yabba and planning their next robbery.

Sh*t happens, and these kids were doing something that they had done before and so had many others before them. They got caught out by the rainfall. They made a mistake. I am sure you have made many mistakes. I am reminded how as a 10 year old, me and 6 of my friends dug a tunnel and hole into the side of a hillock to make a "den". You could crawl in and get 10 people inside. The 'cavern' in the middle was about 6 feet tall and 3 m diameter. It was a major excavation. How the roof never collapsed and buried us all I will never know... but it was fun.

The fact these children are actually alive is a real tale of survival. One of them or some of them will have exercised extraordinary leadership to hold them all together in reasonable spirits and I would like to think the coach is the one that helped them out. He screwed up on going in, but collectively they have survived against all odds. I wonder if 13 random members from Thai Visa were put in the same situation, how many of us would actually be alive now let alone in good spirits and polite on being discovered.

Excellent post, I couldn't have said it better myself. IMO, far too many people forget their youth.

Don't you just love it when a plan comes together and has the happiest ending of all time congratulations to all that have risked their lives to find the little fellas.

You used that famous A team line which reminds me, I was hoping in the event of a positive

outcome these lads are to be given a stake in the movie rights to the inevitable star-studded

Hollywood Blockbuster!

I will be interested in hearing what sustained them. How did they keep their spirits up? Could they hear any noise from the rescuers? What role did the coach play? What role did Buddhism play? I'm afraid I would have gone bonkers there in the dark with death so close.

I thought the same, incredibly composed, polite, doing what the rescuers ask etc.

A  large number of posts and answers to them have been removed.

It is a pity that the answers have to be removed as for the major part

they were spot on putting down the original posters.

I’ve been here through the 04 Tsunami and the flooding 6 or so years ago and there were more smiling faces than frowns. There is something to be said about Thai attitudes towards hardship.

I've got wet eyes.

I feel a wave of contagious joy overwhelming Thailand - if not the world.

Probably now I can get back to my every day business - but wait: they have to get out first

I think its something to do with if you take away light and sound, your body clock will slow down and sleep and a relaxed state will aid your survival. Plus Thai doing their second best thing after eating, thats sleeping! ?

First conversation between rescuers and the young survivors.

The last three lines will probably be changed when they make the blockbuster movie!

To all those "hang the coach! " crowd, ask yourselves, have you never disregarded a sign or instructions not to do something? These are kids and a lot of kids have a spirit of adventure, me included. People make these kind of mistakes all over the world every day. It is why all countries have search and rescue teams. I am amazed at their composure upon being found after 9 days of darkness and uncertainty.

Well done to all people involved in this rescues TEAM effort.
