my friend's bike,

My friend is now back from his holiday in LoS.

He has checked the registration papers and they say 1967, but Norwegian vehicle registration authorities

could not care less re 67 model or 68 model.

Anyway, he appreciated the info re the brakes and 1968.

As far as my friend and the previous owner know the bike was exported to the US late autumn 1967,

hence - could well be a -68.

He is of course interested in ascertaining whether the bike is 67 or 68.

Are there other characteristics than the brakes he should look for in order

to detect indicators?

Any advice appreciated.

Without checking my books downstairs, carb types (concentric or monobloc), air filters or not, points system 6CA or earlier, style of rear light, electrics & charging/regulating system, etc etc.

68 was a fair few new changes to a bike that was basically the same externally 63-67.

thanks all for input/feedback

he has done that - moved the bike today from seller to his own place,

he found frame# and engine# and looked them up in online databases

and he is now comfortable that it is established that the bike is 68

obtained at a bargain price

TR3 racer .. Just love the front brake on that ..

'71 YR5 .. I've always thought this was one of the coolest colour schemes out there early 70's .. RD200 came in it also ..

I had a girlfriend who had an RD200 in that color.  Circa 1973-74.  That's when I was a mechanic at the Suzuki shop.  It had a really crappy clutch lever action compared to the Suzukis.

Saw Janis Joplin live

When you could still buy nickel bags !

I saw her at the Alexandria Roller Rink in Virginia, long time ago.  No seats, just sit on the hardwood floor.
