MV Agusta has always made bike porn once they got away from manufacturing little 2T tiddlers.

And art. Check the front wheel spoke pattern out on a tubeless rim...

Not particularly my cup of tea, but i appreciate the tech, the design and the 208 bhp performance.

The latest MV 1000-4, the MV Rush 1000;

PI Customs have a shop in Dindang.  They specialise in making parts for, and customising, Triumphs, though they do work on other bikes too.

I prefer the later two . Even when younger at 191 cm I could never bend over that far and now at 115 kgs totally impossible. But love the work.

The tyres look like the old Sunbeam my mate had in the late '60's. He couldn't find/afford the correct bike tyres so he used car tyres. ????

Whilst this may not be viewed as full on bike porn it's contribution to the 2 wheeled world that we all embrace cannot be underestimated .. The 1885 Daimler Reitwagen or Riding Automobile as it was first referred to as the term motorcycle had not been yet coined when it was created in the workshop's of brilliant German engineer and inventor Gottlieb Daimler ..

Herr Daimler went on to form a union with Karl Benz to concentrate on 4 wheels with the formation of Daimler Benz but the very concept of attaching an internal combustion engine to a 2 wheeled cycle was born in this machine ..

Speed!

The Bloodhound LSR has just finished high speed testing in the Kalahari Desert.  It had a target of 550mph on Nov 15th, and reached 562mph / 904km/hr, and then had a target speed of 600mph on the 16th - reaching 628mph / 1010 km/hr  All HST objectives were achieved.  Now it's back to Blighty to review the data before making a targeted land speed record attempt of 1000+ mph, which will be well worth watching.  The driver is Andy Green, who holds the current record of 763.065mph, set over 20 years ago.

This is the 562mph run.  It's quite amazing how stable the car is at that speed.

Paton are a small Italian manufacturer, making racing bikes since 1958.  Mike Hailwood raced a 125 in that year's lightweight TT, which was his first outing at the event, finishing 7th:

And one of the latest, from 2018, the S1-R 60th Anniversary, a street legal replica of the Reparto Corse Paton bike Michael Dunlop won the lightweight TT on in 2018, smashing the lap and race records as he did so.  He also won this years event on one as well.  Handmade and fitted with a modified Kawasaki ER6 engine.  Yours for a cool £25,300

As well layed out by B P already Paton who are better known for their Parallel twins ( es'pesh at the TT ) also had a dabble with the 500 GP class in't 90's with a 70° V4 stroker .. which was brave considering they were up against the factory teams from Japan ..

Reckoned to put out 190hp which was about the class standard of the day but not very reliable .. rumour has it they co-developed with Cagiva who also ran a 500cc stroker about that time ..

Sadly though GP racing being the expensive class that it is they slipped beneath the waves early 2000's due to lack of funds ..

Read recently the wheels on this are 39in diameter and made of a very high grade aluminum/zinc alloy to try and resist the centrifugal forces exerted on them when rotating at over 10,000 rpm that they will be doing if it can reach the 1000 mph they are aiming for ..

EJ200 lump from a Typhoon Euro fighter largely based around the R R X40 Jet engine developed in the 80's .. T'is one of these that is packing the punch in Bloodhound ..

Typhoon giving it big licks after take off .. Just love those dilating exhaust tailpipes ..

Ack Attack .. fastest motorcycle in de' world at 394 mph ..

2 turbocharged Suzy Hayabusa lumps heavily modified and running 2.5 bar boost pressure ( that's a lot ) thru' dry ice packed intercoolers to give a combined output of upto 900 hp .. check out the truck sized turbocharger behind the 2nd engine in middle pic' .. the heat build up within that bodywork must be tremendous .. By all accounts this has had some spectacular off's and been rebuilt a number of times and is due to have a crack at topping 400 mph on a Bolivian desert sometime soon ..

When it comes to land speed records, things don't always go to plan.  Valerie Thompson crashed her 3 Litre V4 powered BUB 7 Streamliner at 343mph in Australia last year when trying to beat the record set by the Ack Attack above...

Call me biased, but this is the best looking of any of the streamlined motorcycles to attempt the LSR.  The Triumph Infor Rocket Streamliner.  Powered by 2 Rocket 3 engines, tuned to a combined 1,000hp, Guy Martin took it to a disappointing 276mph at Bonneville in 2016, but was unable to go faster due to water on the salt.  There's still talk of bringing it out again, aiming for the 400mph mark.

More cool, though non-motorcycle, tech...

Gravity Industries are a British company that make jet suits.  A couple of days ago, the owner, and test flyer, showed off the latest model to a group visiting HMS Queen Elizabeth when it visited Washington DC:

Flying lessons, and the online link to buy one, are available here, though they don't say how much they will knock you back:
