Driver's Licence Query

Featured Replies

I will be due to renew my motorbike and car driving licences soon. I got my temporary licences at the Bangkok LTO at Mo Chit.

I have since moved to Pattaya. Do I need to go to renew at the Pattaya LTO or could I do it during a visit to Bangkok sometime (BKK is my preferred option due to ease of getting to the location)

Thanks in advance for any help with this ?

You can renew at the DLT that fits you best.

Of course you need a proof of residence.

You will have to get that from Pattaya immigration (except you have a WP or yellow book etc.).

I have a Residence Certificate issued from Pattaya Immigration in January. I believe they are good for 12 months - do you now if this is correct ? (The licences are not due for renewal until early December, just trying to plan ahead)

Usually valid for 30 days. And in case you want to renew motorbike and car license you probably need one for each

I don't have a reference source but from misc. other posts: yes the res.cert. should be no older than 30 days and one original for each DL.

For the medical (not needed here) I could bet that I have read 30 days in some DLT announcement.

thanks for the clarification on the RC's - I will make sure I get 2 more within the 30 day period later on in the year ?
