What areas are most likely to be negatively impacted by the noise from the new airport... will places like San Sai and Mae Jo and Doi Saked be directly in the flight path?

My Thai wife told me that the new airport is going to be located near Lumphun, but not any time soon. I can't tell you what her source was, however she informs me that she is rarely mistaken.

Yes, I thought it was publicly known that it will be between Lamphun and San Kamphaeng... ??

In the last 30 years there have been 9 new airports.  How many more will there be in the next 30 years?

I was told it would be at Doi Lor, which is just south of Sanpatong.

While ,in my opinion ,its needed to get it out of a city which is becoming more grid locked with traffic every day I wouldnt expect it to be within the next 10 years at best.

 

Swampy took 30 years from decision day to completion and has now its outgrown itself.

 

Who benefits from its location is also a consideration.

Ten years ago we were told that it was going to be out that way, on the way to Li, ten years passed and not a thing (Some of the Pu Yai and family were buying up land down that way for a while)

Years away, but just find out what the runway alignment will be. The noisiest places will be at either end of the runway(s).

Depends on runway placement and noise abatement policies.

The runway will be north/south between Ban Thi hospital and San Kampaeng hospital.

The patients and medical staff will enjoy it for sure.
