  Do I wish she was still 48k like when we married? Perhaps it is a question of where one was taught mathematics. I learnt that 5/8 is a fraction and I shall always read it as such.

 

Talking about fractions and to give you some practice with them, using UK units for fluids:

 

A quart is 1/4 of a gallon.

A pint is 1/2 of a quart.

An ounce is 1/20 of a pint.

A drachm is 1/8 of an ounce.

A minim is 1/60 of a drachm.

 

Question: What fraction of a gallon is a minim?

I don't use them any more because I have gone to metric instead. It is easier in cooking to use metric and I have downloaded some conversion tables from Imperial And USA to Metric.

 

Sometimes the recipes come in American measures which of course are smaller than Imperial.

Yes Kerryd, I am scared to post here now. And I used to be a supermod.

But it is good to see you, maybe I should spend some time looking back, somw of us go back a long way and have some really good stuff here.
